@@Simoxs7 From what I heard from a developer (not ksp 2 developer) in this stage the game should be playable enough to be tested, stability and performance is not something that they care so much until futher stages of development

No joke, I absolutely prefer this over what KSP2 looks like right now. KSP2 feels too… ‘glossy’, I guess? Parallax 2.0 is exactly how I’d want a successor to KSP to look; Crisp and full of detail, yet still very much ‘Kerbal’! Also, I REALLY wanna use this with RSS/RO!
KSP 2 should look better than it currently does but if it has proper multi-core processing support and it can be properly modded (as much or more than KSP 1) I wouldn't be so worried; if you compare KSP 1 to modded KSP 1, the modded one looks extremely good (for a +10 year game)
Games in alpha will never look perfect at first, sometimes a long way down the pipeline you end up remaking parts of your lighting engine and suddenly everything changes. I do hope we get something that looks like modded KSP in stock KSP2.
My good friend Beau was a big fan of this game, he's actually the one who turned me onto KSP. He sadly died on the 4th of July this year... he would've absolutely loved to have seen this, and its making me a bit emotional. Miss you buddy.

Damn, this truly earns respect. With the vegetation you turned Eve and Laythe (heck, even Kerbin) into planets and a moon worth exploring thoroughly again. I really admire the work that went into this mod.
Jesus. This is absolutely mind blowing. You’ve reinvented the first game I’ve ever owned on PC. I thought I explored everything and done all that was meant to be done in stock KSP, and now it’s like Im experiencing the game for the first time again. You can consider me a new patreon supporter, because honestly this type of work should be paid DLC.
I have no words for what you have managed to do...the crafts become the joke instead of the surfaces. And I thought KSP was already at the end of its possible evolution besides bugfixes. All that, and made from the ground up so that you have control over every aspect of appearance and performance?! Take my money. P.s. the subtitles are a great source of comedic whiplash
Honestly this is insane. I haven't been this excited for a KSP "update" (this counts!) since early development. Looks amazing, can't wait to give it a shot.

@@2807ft Actually the performance impact is about the same. Parallax 1 was very unoptimized, and parallax 2 made huuuuge optimizations, so even with the grass and trees and rocks, the optimizations balance it out.

You glorious madman, you did it. I've been wondering about doing something like this (terrain scatter overhaul) for years now but never got 'round to it, and I'm so happy to see that it's possible. Only thing that KSP doesn't (yet?) have is a rewrite of the PQS system to take advantage of ECS and perhaps an implementation of marching cubes to allow for full 3D terrain. Maybe one day...

This is INSANE! I don't think any computer will run this in more than 10 SPF tho. I wish KSP would properly support multi-core processing because this level of quality is astounding!
2 seconds per frame? It's not like I know what that feels like... haha. On my old laptop it used to take over an hour real-time to launch into orbit. The scream of the fans really added to the immersion. 🤣

do you know how to change the quality or make the objects actually appear? im not sure if i installed wrong or its just a setting somewhere but for me only the ground texture changes, no trees or anything.

This, the making spacecraft and explore the orbit physics- game, is now really comparable with the game like maded for just like open-world space flying adventure game like Star Citizen, this is literally " _Wow_ " stuff; oh my god. I literally shocked when you showed me you added the whole underwater ecosystem in laythe. _YOU MADED A WHOLE NEW WORLD FOR THIS GAME!!_ I really respect you and this game, pal.
