What is "the target" so you know when to turn because you are aligned with "it". What is it. And how do u know when you have broken the plain between cars with your rear light, how do u know where that is?
How do you know when to stop backing up in the last step. Obviously as a truck it has a huge blind spot where the tailgate is so unless you have a reverse camera you cant see, the only problem I have is I dont wanna back up too far an bump the other car so what would you use as a reference point
That's the same problem I have with an older SUV. If I am bay parking and backing in and am lucky enough to park next to a dark car that has a shiny finish so I can see my rear end then it's easy peasy. If not I HAVE to get out to see if my bumper is sitting in their front seat. I can find NO videos addressing this situation.
Assuming you know your vehicle, its handling and its parametres, it's simple: use other objects around you as a referent. In any truck you'll be parking blind, so you have to know how to put it back the distance you want to, no less and no more. In this specific case, he'd know how far the back of his vehicle (tail-gate, towbar, etc) protrudes beyond his back tyres; and he'd know where his back tyres are relative to his position (i.e., 1m behind, 1.2m, etc). And if you really can't do it, have a parking-assistant system installed (and give everyone else a laugh!). :P
