Thank you so much for this! I am going to have to park a new camper trailer in a parallel spot from our alley, and this really helped me to feel comfortable with the mechanics before I gave it a try.
You're welcome. For me, this was the hardest trailer thing to learn. I haven't done it in years. I'd probaly have to rewatch my own video if I had to do it again!
NO! Thank God! It's an automatic. In fact, the manual transmission on the Ram 5500 only has about half the towing capacity of the automatic. I learned to drive a big rig with a double-clutching split-shifter and it was a nightmare. I'd often forget to split back down to low gears at a stop, then I'd try to drive away in 6th gear, thinking I was in 2nd, and stall the truck.
Thank you! I appreciate the compliments. In essence, parallel parking is literally only 3 turns of the steering wheel. Very easy... IF you line up the trailer correctly at the start. If you are NOT lined up properly at the start, it quickly gets messy and confusing.
