I don't understand why you have paramédics in the anbulance and then call an advance paranedic to help losing a lot of time. In our country all paramedics are advanced we call it Advanced Life Support units and they don't need to call for help and don't lose so much time on the scene. One single ambulance with two paramedics or one EMT and a paramedic can do the job.
Their regular paramedics are the equivalent of US EMTs, albeit with a little more training and wider scope of care. Intensive Care paramedics are equal to our normal ALS paramedics. The Aussie system is much better than the UK's system and closer to the US system.

They’re a wonderful patient service, & it has been working for many decades’, extremely successfully……… Don’t denigrate an entity about which you know absolutely nothing…………
