Working on a spindle warmup routine and thought I’d share the progress so far. I wanted to make it variable on how long you want to spend warming up and also how fast the spindle spins up to.
Nice work, I have a 828D on my XYZ-710 and i was just starting to program a routine as i a very important part of the CNC system that Siemens seems to ignore. Really pleased to see that you already done it, maybe you should consider to distribute it as a Macro to integrate in the controller and ask for some sort of contribution, I will be your first customer, it save me a bit of time!!! There's a lot of free buttons that could be programmed as a standard button on the controller with a proper icon to call an internal macro, Haas has this option from ages now, don't really know why shouldn't be on the Siemens as is an expensive controller too. A little bit late to the party, but just wanted to point out that running spindle at high rpm without tool is not very health for it. Some machines will even block it by default to 200-500rpm.
Was just looking to start putting something like this together for my machine. Do you have a location you are putting the code up at so that others can make use of or possibly help with contribution?
Das Wookie I will probably put in in my A360 drive (fusion 360) and people can download it from there (you don’t need any software to do that). Maybe I will do that tomorrow.
