The #1 Selling Paramotor Brand: blackhawkparamo...
INTRODUCTION:
At the request of many Paramotor Pilots around the world, Mike Robinson of BlackHawk Paramotors teams up with Wisconsin Dealer Marc Amenson to show you how to rebuild a BlackHawk Paramotor engine!
DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A BLACKHAWK:
Many Paramotors on the market are similar by design, so this video can be extremely useful in assisting with the rebuild process. ALWAYS check with your local Dealer or Manufacturer before you engage in ANY major machine maintenance or procedures. Also make sure to conduct a THOROUGH pre-flight inspection and break-in procedures before flying a new or rebuilt motor.
If you have any questions about the rebuild process, have a different motor than the one used in this video, or have any suggestions for future video topics, please feel free to contact BlackHawk's headquarters in California via the contact info below.
Thanks for watching and let us know what you think in the comment section below! Blue skies from all of us at Team BlackHawk USA!

thank you for this video. I am exploring everything, before getting into the sport. I am turning 54 next month. I have always had a passion for aviation and flying, but hit road blocks through my life. My latest roadblocks involve not only the cost of flying a fixed wing as a hobby, but the health certificate to do so as I have type two diabetes, controlled high blood pressure and on anxiety medication for a hard life. I make a good living, but struggle with medical bills after fighting cancer. I have a new outlook on life after beating cancer and want to live my dream. I am very analytical, and maybe taking due diligence to and extreme, however; I want to live my dream for many years rather than die happy doing what I know I would love. I live in South Dakota, and other than finances, a concern is if this dream is possible here. Not just picking days that are safe to fly, but also the camaraderie of flying with others to hone my skills, and advance safely. Also prior to the cancer I was in a farming accident in which I was buried in corn and drown. Dur-ring the rescue, my body was twisted and there was damage to my right knee. I walk and such just fine, but thinking trike may be my best option, if I can not foot launch. I would truly appreciate any help, advice and guidance you can give me in full filling what I can only describe as not only a celebration of life, but also living rather than going through the motions. Thank you, Glen

I like how simple Mike Robinson makes rebuilding the 125. He uses easy words to discribe the parts of the engine. I hope the Airmax 220 is as simple to rebuild as the 125.

Good info. Great tip about making sure to adjust mixture for altitude changes. Running too lean is cause for many small engine failures.

How about a video showing further breakdown where you have to replace a crankshaft and how you separate the crankcase body and press out/in the replacement? Just watched someone do this and the hammer beating and screwdriver twisting really made me cringe! Aluminum case, argh!

I have a suggestion on the gas having ethanol in it. I fly with premium unleaded with 10% ethanol. I use tygon fuel line and a wix 33001 filter, along with seafoam to keep the gas stable. I've been doing this for 2 years and rebuild my carb yearly. I've noticed since I've been using this setup that I've had ZERO gunk/fuzz in the carburetor filter. It may be worth trying it out to see if you have the same result. I was amazed at the fuzz you found in this particular carburetor.

When setting that carb, turning the needle in then backing off 2.5 turns. I lose track easy, that sharpie or some kind of color on one side of the screwdriver, can help make sure you didn't count half a turn off.

Im glad you said flush it out while it was turned over! I got a lot of flack on another rebuild video a pilot did on his and I said flush it out the same way! They were thinking he needed to do a dip tank cleaning and the piston bearings had to come out. Yeah if it was a big 4 to 8 cylinder engine that didn't seize up like a single piston will so that rod bearing should be ok with nothing even having a chance to get into it. Great video but thumbs down people? Ok, its not PBS quality but come on! ;)

Thanks for the comment and feedback! There are sure some "characters" in this amazing sport... I've worked with several Manufacturers myself. The dislikes are such a normal part of the business and doesn't bother us one bit =). People don't realize that ANY interaction helps our videos rank, so it's all good! We focus on - and surround ourselves with positive people who want to be a part of the "life-changing" aspect of the sport... It never ceases to amaze me the ego that people get when they "strap a silly fan to their back" lol! All of a sudden, they are expert Aircraft Pilots, and whatever brand of Paramotor they fly becomes like a religion to them and all other brands are evil. There are enough outstanding people we work with that it makes it all worth while though. We always have to remind people that "it's all about the flying... period." We don't care what brand fan is on your back, as long as you are safe, happy, and FLYING =) Blue skies and thanks for all the comments over the years! -Robert W. I use every now and again, I mix high octane racing fuel for my Corvette, Sailboat outboard, Motorcycle, and cars. I dilute 1/10th to the gallon from the 110 Octane Unleaded Gas. Does that help with the ethanol varnish residue problem? I always got my my Gas in Arizona, because we had no ethanol in our gas. That is not the case now, so I carefully mix the 110 Octane with the regular Gas. You do see and feel the difference. Do you think it will help with the ethanol varnish problems for the PPG motors?
@blackhawkparamotor
@blackhawkparamotor 7 лет назад
If you have access to gas without ethanol, GO FOR IT! It's getting harder and harder to find it where we are located unfortunately. We recommend Pilots use the highest-octane gas they can get at their local gas station. The ethanol may cause the fuel lines to get soft over time & some slight buildup in the screen. As long as you conduct pre-flight inspections regularly, you will be able to tell when it's time to replace the hoses or clean the screen =) -Robert W.
