Thanks +PPGFlyr, it was such a good flight and a great place to fly! I'm not sure that the balloon was supposed to have landed where it did, therefore I think that the passengers were glad to see some entertainment :)

Its amazing!! Basically you've got to abide by CAA regulations on airspace, besides that you just need permission from the land-owner to use their land to take off!

can you take off at public areas like large parks or so?

Sergeant do you have to have yraining to fly a paramotor e.g. safety and emergency situation stuff

I personally learnt to paraglide first, starting with a 1-day experience day in Wales (Axis Paragliding), loved it and then bought a wing which I then spent 2-3 months with learning how to control in a large field, just on the ground. Once I was comfortable with the wing, I then bought the motor (Parajet Volution Mk2) and took my first flight, loved it!

+Finnan Lane yes, its an Ozone Angel 140kg in an Evo Independence container with velcro upper section for my instruments etc, why do you ask?

To be honest, once you own all of the kit, it isn't an expensive sport/hobby at all, go for it!!

Getting setup is really about finding a decent instructor that is BHPA approved, also look into beginners wings which are suitable, when I learnt I narrowed the choices down to the Ozone Roadster 2 (my current wing, love it), the Apco Lift and the Revo 3. If you join the BHPA and have qualifications with them, they'll insure your flights although there are many implications around whether they'll cover you - it is rare that you would ever cause damage to the property of someone else, it is unfortunately only yourself that you'd probably injure :) there are other third parties that can cover you as well.

Precisely, there is of course aviation law which you must obide by, but for the actual sport/hobby itself no formal license nor qualification is required BUT I highly recommend that you seek training, you can do some serious damage here, even just training in a field on your own can cause serious damage to your head if a gust of wind drags you.

sergeant is right on this part i would get a paramotor and look into training as i live in England but i dont have the money for it

hem iraapn it's not a public field but the owners have been spoken with in the past and they seem cool with it - we cause no damage nor harm.
