1st time to fly out of this amazing location. Probably not for those prone to motion sickness, given my head movements.
0:02 Starting engine with electric start button.
0:10 Running up the engine one more time to make sure it's good and warm. (I had already warmed it up.)
0:25 Perfect launch, despite a little crosswind.
0:45 Amazed by the views. Slowing down ascent to take it in.
2:00 Can't see it, but I'm getting my phone out of my chest pack and then recording on my phone.
3:00 Turn around for more phone footage.
4:00 Fly by LZ. Trying to get my bearings of this place. Enjoying the fall colors.
5:00 Thinking about when I'm gonna turn around and line up on the landing strip to do a footdrag on the grass, which I did.
6:00 Oh there are my buddies Dustin and PegLeg (yes, he has a missing leg--his nickname choice). I'll try to catch up to them.
7:00 I'm trying to stow my left brake toggle to the lower magnet so it would help turn me more to the left. (I can pretty much steer just by leaning and crossing my legs.) After messing around trying to get it on and jerking the throttle, I finally just stow it on the upper magnet.
8:00 Oh, an RV park along the river?
Then I start following Dustin (footlaunch) and Pegleg (trike). Dustin cuts back west so I follow Pegleg (who lives in the area and is familiar with it) as he follows the Shenandoah River toward his buddy's house on the other side of Highway 7.
This clip ends as I'm studying the quarry, deciding whether I should cross right over it (I ultimately do), and trying to figure out where my LZ is from there.
