This portfolio film introduces Paraorchestra, the world's only large scale professional ensemble of disabled and non disabled musicians, creating large scale, dynamic orchestral music experiences. Paraorchestra use an unconventional mix of acoustic, electronic, and assistive instruments, performing a wide ranging repertoire that spans Mozart to Barry White, Schnittke to Kraftwerk, and Steve Reich to Kate Bush. Not limited by place of space, Paraorchestra take their work to audiences in nightclubs, beachfronts, concert halls, festivals, and suburban streets from their home in Bristol UK to as far away as Perth WA.

Very much enjoyed the Paraorchestra when I saw them at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. They are one of the few contemporary orchestras that tackle everything from Classical to Minimalism to Pop to Electronic to the Avant-Garde (and everything in between). You never know which way they are going to turn, what delights they are going to focus on next with their writing, performing or reinventions. Very creative in their output and performances. Well worth catching live if you get the chance. But be quick, these lot don't stay still for long before they whizz off in another direction and onto another project!
