Yeah, I know...how I could eve compare such cartoon graphics. Well, because I can and I really like this game since my childhood :) I mean, who doesn't know this awesome song? Kick Punch it's all in your mind! Cheers!
you are all dumb (says me replying to a 3 year old comment) whenever parappa fucks up a combo in the ORIGINAL ps1 game and here, he stays on the frame of the animation he was last preforming. for combos that animate him as you press the buttons, this means that if you mess it up or stop inputting entirely parappa will just stay in the frame he left off on. you can clearly see this in play here. you need to also remember that parappa is JANKY as hell and because of the new addition of widescreen there's a lot of things normally not shown in the bounds of 4:3 that are now fully on display here
Sven Nero I thought I was the only one who thought that! I agree, it looks higher quality on ps4 but it just looks creepy in my opinion. It looks better on the ps1
Wow, it's like, suprisingly unchanged. I hate it, I expected fixes to the wonky line mechanics, or some changes to the way the characters move, fixes to the weird animations, and the off-sync timing of EVERYTHING, all of that, but no, just slap some redrawn graphics in, and take some high-quality uncompressed recordings of the old Parappa lines, remaster done. I just hope they have SOMETHING new added to it, even if it's just a small thing.
Oh wow, that's...fucking lazy as shit, but I guess maybe buying it will raise interest in Parappa, possibly happen to create a new game? I dunno, but at least it sorta lets the people who made it know that they're wanted.
I've brought Parappa 1 four times in my life 1. The original PS1 version - 50$ 2. The digital PS1 version - 6$ 3 . The PSP version - 20$ 4. The Remastered game, digital - 15$ So... 91$ for the same game, that you can complete 100% in 2 hours, that has the exact same graphics, but upscaled at a higher resolution... Sounds good. Even worse, I'm planning to get the physical version too, which will cost me yet another 20$.
Yeah... on The Remaster you get --The Game --A cool Wallpaper on The JPN PSN --Higher quality Parappa voice --No PS1/PSP compression of The music --A HQ texture pack
is the same as the psp version which is only slightly different from the ps1 version and they say it's a remasterd but this is nothing but a lazy remake and they slap remasterd to the name
the crash bandicoot remasterd is a remasterd cause it was made from the ground up and looks completely different with better graphics and no used assets at all you dumbass
If the left is the first PlayStation, I say I prefer those graphics. Whenever you up sample an older game on a newer system, the graphics tend to get a little blurry around turns and bends. (true for XBOX 360 and XBOX One as well) Pink window panes look better than darker purple ones.
I was gonna make a civil comment about how they could have made it look a bit better like making Master Onion's head separate from his body (to get rid of that...awkwardness going on at points) but this comment section already seems filled with complaints. So I'll leave it at that.
Fantastic way to rip off people who already own the original game. Just make the PS4 not backwards compatible and re-sell a digital version of the game that's not that updated. I prefer the PS1 graphics for some odd reason.
Why is Sony milking this character so much if they aren't even going to bother making a new game? It was already remade on PSP, then he was included in PS All-Stars, and now we are getting yet another remake.
PSP version: 2007 All Stars: 2012 Remaster: 2017 I wouldn't say they're milking it. I doubt the average gamer even knows what Parappa The Rapper is. They're probably just testing the waters anyway. It's a big risk to revive an old franchise with a multimillion dollar reboot title when they have no idea whether people will buy it. If this remaster gets enough attention it could lead to a new sequel. If it doesn't get the attention, no one is harmed. This is a low budget remaster and it's done pretty well.
While the remake does have smoother graphics and extra content, it isn’t anywhere near as good as the original. Certain graphical effects are missing, the timing is way off (Especially on cheap cheap), there’s a shit ton of input lag and while I do understand they wanted to update the button icons, they just look... artificial. They don’t fit the cartoony style of parappa.
This is an example of a perfect re-release; everything has been touched-up and recomposited from the source to a higher resolution without going revisionist & removing/adding things.
Sad part is that people are going to buy and support this assuming this is a way to show the masses we want Parappa the Rapper 3. Don't support lazy work and cash grabs. Go out and buy the original game. Probably going to be embarrassingly the same price as this re-release. Maybe the original game will be cheaper. Own a hard copy.
Ruben Toco supporting the creators and release for this shows them that there's still a current audience and market for this game. original ps1 copies for parappa are rare and expensive from what ive seen, plus it's usually resale by other people.
Ruben Toco & + SarksStuff They even have a deal going on where the game $11.99 for PS PLUS users and you get a theme if you pre order it. The deal lasts until the game releases on April 4th.
I checked, the game is about 15 dollars. That's actually reasonable... I think it should be 10 considering it's a short game and not all that updated from the original. I also compared it for how much the original is going for. It's 60... So yeah, this re-release is pretty good.
they're probably just testing the waters for a new parappa game. after all, why make it if it won't sell well? most gamers probably don't know what parappa is, so its best to make sure it'll sell first
Creative David | left is ps1 and right is ps4... Focus on the graphics to tell which one. Kinda bad graphics is ps1 and at least better graphics is ps4
NO You will only get THAT Big enhancement on The PS4 Version No matter which resolution, Filter, it will only be better if you replace the textures from the files and fix The Widescreen Problems
