This commentary was insight into human nature, that we often want to make or have something of our own, but especially in times of war (like now) everyone has to contribute. Parshat Matot says that, on G-d's instructions, Moshe sends 12,000 soldiers to war against Midian, 1000 from each tribe, with Pinchas, son of Elazar Ha Cohen, "the sacred vessels and sounding trumpets in his hand." To get the Mitzraim out of ourselves, we need to build our families and strengthen our communities in Israel, the sacred vessels and sounding trumpets in our hands.
Todah Rabbi. Parasha always plays out. Many Jews refuse to make Alliyah, some anti Yisrael, and are very comfortable living out of the LAND HaShem has given to our forefathers. Very sad
