I kept thinking crash course zoology had already spoken about symbiotic animal pairings. Episode four. I looked at the previous episodes an there it was while crash course was speaking about meals, digestion and how animals obtain nutrients. Certain parasites kill their hosts simply consuming their host until death occures. While other parasites maintain the life of their host as being their meal tickets.

Was our mitochondria once a parasite?
@womtv69
@womtv69 3 года назад
The definition of a parasite is an organism that gains benefit at another organism’s expense. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I do not believe the mitochondria particularly harmed its host cell. It was probably another form of symbiont like a mutualist, which, by definition both gives and gains benefit to and from its host.

They're There, They're Their No need to gender the hypothetical Bear It does not exist, It is not aware We can be more inclusive by referring to them as Their A non-binary bear is just as good an example and will have just as good of a parasitic sample They're even just as good for a campsite trample But don't run away and twist your ankle I hope that this poem isn't too much to bear but language is a powerful tool, we should use with flair And mindful we should be, with our air I hope I have not spoken in err (Thank you for reading. I enjoy your videos Crash Course but it was a bit striking how much the host had to refer to the Hypothetical Bears gender in that short clip. In any scientific presentations I've given, I typically strive to refer to subjects in a bit different of a style and only include gender if it is of direct relation to to the topic at hand. In this use case I do not see a need to gender a bear to express parasites relations to North American Black Bears. Had the Reproductive system been involved then maybe. In this case each Parasite could have been found in any North American Black Bear, regardless of gender. I understand that not all may agree with this assessment but hope this has been insightful and can create a positive dialogue.)
