My son did this one time to me when leaving Dave & Buster's, I let him have his moment, but he tore my arm with scratches. After that when I went to the next public place, I gave him a whooping before we even went inside and I told him if he ever act like that again and did that to me that he was going to get it worse when we got home. He never did it again.
When I was a child, and even dared to act up like that my parents use to say "you want to cry. I'll give you something to cry about". And that was the end of that!😂
Parenting is indeed a tricky business. I'm retired military. You wouldn't believe the amount of kids where NCOs literally have to mold, rewire, retrain a kid from the failures of lack of good discipline in the home, especially single mother homes!

Yes, crazy story. I grew up in the 1970's and I never received spending-money. I asked my late Dad why this was? He pulled on his tobacco-pipe and looked at me after 2-3 minutes and very CALMLY said, IN LIFE NOTHING IS FOR FREE. If you want something in life, you MUST work for it. Still live to those standards until today. I'm 59. Loved him for that life-experience.
Yep. When I started asking for allowance, my dear Dad spoke very calmly, " Then get a job." I was 11 yrs old. I ended up bundling newspapers for the pharmacist after school. He paid cash...This was back in the day. He showed me after a few years how to work the register and count change back (this is before the register that tells you how much change owed😂). Proceeded to continue to work... I am 54 yr old black woman. I miss my Daddy. He raised me right.

Taking in REALITY and being able to assist me in tackling anything that life threw at me. I was 7 at that time. Standing on your own two feet was considered NORMAL back then. @@monicaspector2388 My oldest brother worked for a local pharmecist in high school! "Summer jobs" were common then, in the 1970's. I came to understand years later that it was minimum wage increases that spelled the end of summer jobs and the work experience that came with it for many teenagers. To your other point, I give my pre-teen granddaughter an allowance with the clear understanding that it is literally 'compensation' for helping me with her younger siblings and providing them with a positive example while she is in "mom" training. She understands that it is not "free money." Lol
I learned from watching my brothers get in trouble. When I heard the belt coming, I ran! 🤣🤣 ... and hid. I learned my lessons vicariously through my brothers. 🤣
Before I left the home, I got that talk. Never wanted Mom to tell Dad how I was acting out. Mom would take me out on the spot, then Dad took it to another level. After I woke up, found out I Lost all privileges for a month.
Many would not agree, but sending kids to military school for a short duration would teach them discipline. Honestly, I think the parents should have been sent there too-then the kids would be raised appropriately.
I watched a nature show once where young male African elephants were killing other animals apparently for sport. The humans managing the area decided it was because all the mature males had been poached. They relocated some mature bull elephants from other herds, and the younger males straightened up and began to behave normally.

I raised two children. My modus operendi was a) this is your sandbox to play in, you are free to do what you want in it, next year I will make it bigger, but outside if it mom and dad have the last word, period; when dad or mom says "Hold my hand", YOU HOLD THE HAND! b) all the social shit you do at home with your sibling or your parents, the unkindness of your words and the other bad behaviors, you will do them with others outside the home and that won't be good for you, so we deal with them immediately and show you the right way to behave; c) children, young and old, do stupid stuff, if you are surprised about that as a parent, you are an idiot, so do your freaking job and parent your child (humour is useful in most cases, rarely are situations life and death ones)..
My wife is identical to the woman in the skit. I was raised in rural Africa. I dont tolerate that sh*t. My kids try that, No way that BS will last longer than 2 seconds when i am around lol.

My son was getting into trouble in the neighborhood and the law too. I gave him countless talks and warnings and still went back to his bs. So i gave him the good old fashioned treatment that we got in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 and guess what he did? Yes, he called the cops on me . Irvine police came in no time and interrogated me about what happened. I explained everything that had been happening and they went their marry way without charges or CPS being called. I told them that i cannot sit back and watch when my son ran amock in Irvine, doing foolishness and creating havoc in one of the safest cities in America. I had to check him. So folks, becareful in disciplining , especially if you have a foolish son like mine. When i grew up and was disciplined for my foolish behavior, i never went to cops. If i was disciplined at school, i made sure it never got to my parents because the punishment would be worse. This is the reason why the Kids in Africa are more disciplined than the kids in the West. Also choose wisely with whom you marry and never get divorced because parental alienation was involved in this situation too to destroy my reputaion and send me straight to Jail

This is crazy. The 17 y/o kid in Chicago who shot his mother in front of the father and his little brother. But he was already on house arrest for car jacking. That's why i got out of coaching, a lot of these kids are too entitled.
It's a lost cause for most. Social media has more influence over kids, than parents. Even if you unplug them, their peers in the matrix will still impact their thoughts & behaviors. You have to leave this morally bankrupt society.
The Generation of Today and the Generation of tomorrow are Soft and WEAK! It's NOT the Generation I was born into in the mid-Sixties with parents from the Fifties. At school, the Nun used to beat you with a Yard Stick, classmates who would verbally and physically torture me daily and at times by the minute. There was NO, police to rescue you, protecting you, and NO school shootings. I took home ed, and I was a linebacker on the football team, I was dedicated to being self-supported and not relying on the government. I put myself through college while working and graduated 🎓 without a $100K debt. Not nowadays 😢😢😢.

Women love using money meant for their children. Here in Canada when it's Child Tax Benefit Day, majority of the women use that money for rent, their own nails, their hair and the children are left looking homeless. It's insane.

The real issue we're facing now, is that there is no standard for parenting, it requires no licence, but it should. No 13 year old should be in charge of another child. No child should be put in charge of another child, this is a parenting issue that we're dealing with. These issues have been a long time coming. These children are being burdened with adult burdens that they can't carry, and at some point they just snap, now it isn't the children that should be punished, it's their parents. I believe that's so strongly.

in the past kids where the norm and there where many .. they HAD to be disciplined or the parents couldn't do anything with the amount of kids around and they where less special since they where one of many. today a kid is a rare treasure where way too many parents don't dare to put discipline into .. the magical word No is important, aswell as holding them accountable for their actions ESPECIALLY girls lack that which makes them become insufferable princesses who are suprised when their actions have consequences but especially boys need to learn discipline it makes them or the lack of it breaks them

Discipline for children is hard because they don't understand respect. The closet thing to respect is fear. Spanking is to instill discipline by fear of spanking not fear of the parent. The parent has show love as well to show the association of spanking as discipline and not fear. If your child does not listen to you and do what you say when you say it, they could cause harm to themselves and/or GOD forbid death. When taught early corporal punishment should be needed less as they grow up and start to understand the difference between respect and fear. I never dealt with anything like that with any of my four children. Just my opinion.
