Just wanted to post this clip to show off how good this series is, I will be the first person to say I was never a fan of what WHTV were doing in terms of animations, but when they produce animations like this, they have my respect, this is what we should have got from the start, I hope we see more stuff like this. If Games Workshop feel this clip is not warranted to be posted then please message me and I will take it down, just wanted to show everyone what they're missing out on. warhammertv.com/
I still think they'd be better off both financially and in terms of audience reach if they made solid creative-control deals with Netflix or just posted more stuff to RU-vid instead of going the Warhammer+ route. I'm sure their animation channel on RU-vid would be really popular, even if they released stuff to it a whole year later. The buzz around Astartes was insane.
That Skorpekh Destroyer leaning in to hear the sister say that she despised xenos like them before ripping their leg out of her soon to be corpse was coldly amazing. Quite the brutal showing as well. Still, impressive the Sisters of battle were able to beat at least one Skorpekh.
I think they got 2! from the looks of it the Palatine was able to down the 2nd with her last plasma round, then looks left to see the 3rd right before he impales her! crazy cool visual storytelling. May her soul now rest in the emperors light.
@@JoKeRakaAlessandrothing is in actuality the necrons fear they might be running out. I know it’s not in any recordable scale but if you live for eternity but have no way to replace numbers (and the necrons do lose people) without organic bodies. The necrons are kinda in the same boat with the eldar in that they are so technologically advanced but can’t even bring about new generations. I give you a trillion dollars loosing a million doesn’t seem so bad but over millennia kinda adds up.
I'm sure this has been said before but I'm calling it now; that lone guardswoman following the sister is absolutely going to end up being a figment of her imagination that no one else can see.
@@rainforcer1 Yeah that's the best guess. Its like in Solar War where the navigator companion was all in Mersadie's head. I didn't catch the hints in that one which made me think it here.
No, all Necrons that didn't immediately teleport to the tomb have damaged teleportation mechanism and must be repaired manually or with help of scarabs.
@@zergrush_9704 Not really, teleportation kick in only with VERY devastating damage that cant be healed on battlefield, if damage is not too great, they will ressurect by themeselves on battlefield. And those are dynasties that serve silent king, so they have 100% ressurect protocol efficiency(as its stated in lore that Szarekh armies didnt suffer even a single permament lose in his war after he returned to galaxy), so they dont have risk of it to fail.
@@zergrush_9704 Sometimes reanimation means just sending their engramms back to the tombship/tombworld. However, some lords choose not to reanimate destroyer/flayer cults.
@@Mastercio have seen that Rick n Morty episode where Morty listens to a bunch of squirrels and how they control the world? Yeah man. leave the cockroaches alone, I learned that the hard way...
I thought they were essentially mindless and lacking individuality thanks to command protocols, but it seemed to actually enjoy messing with her for a minute. Guess programming hatred into a killer robot does make sense
@@vothbetilia4862he mean the destroyer cult. It those group of Necrons that won't listen to order and always on rampage when released from stasis. They act like blood angels death company and shunned by most Necron commander.

You mean Lord Imhotekh, right? What’s that? Your real rulers are riddled with infighting and are slowly decaying, or succumbing to the Destroyer and Flayer curses? :D
@@HiveFleetOni Funny you said that, as its pariah nexus, so those are Szarekh servant and they actually are getting better as time goes on, not worse. All necrons that are return under silent king banner are slowly getting restored. Its probably because from the beggining it Silent king who was meant to be central figure of necrons. So when he severed command protocols, necrons started decaying, but now as more and more dynasties gather under his banner, they are actually getting restored.
The very first battle report with the Necrons is the legendary "Sanctuary 101" from WD 218 (1998). The very first encounter with the Necrons, they didn't have a codex yet, but had a superb battle report vs Sororitas. I was a teen when I first read it and was floored by the mysterious Necrons (back then every Scarab was a little model of its own and not a swarm).
The only thing that bothers me about battle scenes like this is the lack of movement/taking cover/tactics...literally just standing still and firing like it's a target range
there isn't much that can protect you from a gauss flayer, even if you cower behind cover the flayers will disintegrate it because it tears matter apart at an atomic level layer by layer hence gauss flayer
@warbossgrotsmasha23 But if some cover like a pillar can take even that one hit rather than yourself, you're going to do it, superhuman or not. Surviving so you can take down more of the Imperium's enemies. Pointlessly taking hits, especially when each one can be fatal, is dumb. Am I to take it SoB (or others) are this stupid?, I don't think they're supposed to be at least, but it shows different.
@@Drivaawwrrr they're not stupid but power armour tends to make you feel like a god among mortals hence this ferocious zeal that they think the emperor will shield them from any enemy
Space marine or sister of battle rarely take cover because of their faith on god emperor that shield them from incoming gauss blast either way wouldnt it be more tactical if thet did take cover rather then stand there
2 of the sisters are taking cover while shooting back you see them 0:03 the one to the far left and far right are behind cover. But the lady on the top of the hill is short of zelot like where she boost morale while showing strenght for her fellow sister preaching chants while making sure her sisters fights on. If you want people who truly take cover then you should probaly look to the guard regiments the sisters of battle are zealots like where they think the emperor will protect them from enemy fire and that since then there is no need to take cover.
This entire scene did more to tell a complete story about this setting than I could believe possible from GW. The sheer courage it takes to stand against what are sheer monstrosities.
the Skorpekh reminds of Necron close combat back in 5th and 6th ed. They were slow lumbering robots but when they do get close and get their turn to fight, they really are fearsome.
It's actually pretty accurate. Some guy was complaining about it on Reddit (claimed that plasma weapons are anti-Terminator and should have killed the Skorpekh outright), so I did the math for him. Skorpekh Destroyers are Toughness 6, 3+ save with 3 wounds. Supercharged plasma would wound it on a 3+, and the Palatine hits it on a 3+. So even if she got lucky and hit it with 5 instead of 4 out of 6 shots (because it seems she hit with every shot here), about 3 of those would successfully wound the Skorpekh, who will proceed to fail at least 2 of those saves (6+ after AP -3), and it will eat 4 damage straight. So yeah, the Palatine taking about 6 shots to kill the first Skorpekh Destroyer sounds about right.
Sister: "I .... despise you!" Necron: "Girl who never got fucked says 'what'." Sister: "What?" *Necron Skorpekh Destroyer rips his leg out of her and moves on.*
Sister: "I .... despise you!" *Necron Skorpekh Destroyer rips his leg out of her and moves on.* Necron: "You look like you have cancer. That is why we will exterminate you."
I'm beyond happy we got a great portrayal of the Necrons here instead of them being comedy space grandpas. We get to see Necrons talk and also be the silent efficient cold hearted killers. A perfect blend of the old and the new lore. The Necrons don't even have to speak to get their point across. I dislike that so many think personality equates to talking.
as pointed, dont think it can happen, as their desires are opposite of one another. Flayed ones are the desire to return to flesh turned into uncontrollable madness, while the destroyer instead want all flesh, all life to be gone since its something they can never have again. If they cannot live, then nothing should.
"Hey guys ! We can RUN with our three legs but let's not ! We HAVE to walk carefuly, making our "surprise" attack on their back totaly useless so they can at least have the time to destroy one of us. It will be good drama before we end them. I mean... We self repair anyway so..."
0:04 don't you see the 2 sisters on the far left and far right!? They are behind cover and being behind cover doesn't do anything when the enemy's weapons can just destroy the cover and you too. Also these are sisters of battle aka people who belive the emperor will shield them from enemy fire and they are hellbent on that belife that they don't see the point of taking cover. If you want tactic and soldiers takinh cover then look to the imperial guard regiments and space marines
I can't find any credits for who made it. nothing on imdb, not of the GW pages give mention creators, artists or actors. does anyone have anything about who made it?
I have enough armies I don’t need a necron army I have enough armies I don’t need a necron army I have enough armies I don’t need a necron army I need a god damn necron army
She's not dead..... She's fiiiiine. So, she's got a gaping hole where her heart and lungs are..... But look on the bright side, it would be a boon for her, she could get more oxygen through her body.
normally i like to say that standing out in the open during a firefight may be hazardous to your health... but i guess it doesnt matter since the necrons cant aim for shit apparently.
Yeah even a warrior...its still a NECRON warrior they all have that sweet AIMBOT v 8463838 installed, But you need them missing because otherwise necrons would annihilate any opponent without even need to bring big guns.
It's a flashback/the space marine is piecing together what happened from context clues. he's not actually there in the moment, more so seeing what happened hours before. seconds after that it all fades out and leaves him standing there alone.
I know that it’s useless for me to say this since it is 40K, but maybe, just maybe, one should not be standing astride an elevated mound exposed to fire whilst making a last stand…
