The Parikkala statue park, the home yard of the late DIY artist Veijo Ronkkonen, is a testament to his 50 years of unique creativity. His concrete statues, a total of 560, are scattered around the garden and yard, each a masterpiece of its own. My visits to the park have always left me enchanted by the magical atmosphere and the sheer beauty of the garden.
There are 560 statues in total around the versatile garden and yard. My favorites are the statues at the entrance in front of the residential building and the pond in the secret garden, which resembles a Claude Monet painting.
The Parikkala Statue Park, nestled in Koitsanlahti, is conveniently located about 50 km from Imatra and 8 km from the center of Parikkala. The adjacent rest area provides ample parking with direct access to the park, making it a hassle-free visit for all.
The park is a delight to visit at any time of the day, but if you plan an evening visit, a flashlight is a must. Equally important is the entrance fee, a small contribution that goes a long way in preserving Veijo Ronkkonen's statue park for future generations.
