10 min yellow card was enough. Red card is very rare in hockey. Definitely that's not look natural but considering mistake happened with running/movement( out of balance) not statistically, Red card was very hard call

@Edwinsk43453 The fact that a red card is rare in hockey is no reason not to give one when it's deserved. A rule that is never enforced or is unenforceable is a bad rule.

Red card in hockey is extremely rare because i think players follow the rules of the game, the moment you endanger the opponent you are asking for a red card, the same applies in football a rough tackle calls for a red card. There was no need for a great defender to whack the guy on the face , that was a shame and against the spirit of the sport. That being said , India did a brilliant job at defending with 10 men in 3 quarters, not an easy job with the kind of pace and attack in hockey. Well done team india for the win. All the best for the next game.
@Aishwariyajena
@Aishwariyajena Месяц назад
He clearly DID NOT wack the guy... the guy came from behind to tackle the ball and the defender was CLEARLY focused on the ball.... also the ground refree did not give a red card...it was clearly no one's fault....it could have been considered for a green but definitely NOT RED!

Amit is a professional player and should know where his stick swings. I think its a deliberate mistake or rather a forced error.
@user-hy5uq9jz6d
@user-hy5uq9jz6d Месяц назад
Rupha Ramani has no knowledge of hockey, its rules, and interpretations but makes some damning comment about the red card being unfair. Keeping aside emotions, I can as a player and an umpire (desi descent), tell that it was just. You got what you asked for. Amit is culpable of betraying his team with a brain fade. You cannot swing your stick at an opponents face and get away with it. It was deliberate, flagrant, NOT in the flow of the game, and he got the punishment. The manner of referring a non-PC/23 meter region dispute to the 3rd umpire can be debatable, but as shocking as it is, you've gotta call a spade a spade. Now don't confuse that with what the Brits despicably did behind the goalpost during the shoot out with that illegal coaching and having an electronic device near the goal. Deal with that separately.

I do not find it shocking that Rohidas was banned for one game. A hit in the face is dangerous, even if it just happened carelessly. The German player Christopher Rühr was banned for one game, for something similar.
@sinnohperson8813
@sinnohperson8813 Месяц назад
As far as I am aware of the rule. It's red card when done intentionally. Otherwise when it looks unintentional but was done after the shot was taken "while running". It gets a yellow card
@PBandJJJJJ
@PBandJJJJJ Месяц назад
@@sinnohperson8813 I think you are making a fair point. I would add that intention is relative and a lot of things can be disguised as unintentional in sports. That’s why there is the term „dangerous play“, which describes a situation in which a player acts with reckless disregard for the safety of another player. I find the decisions that lead to the ban of Rühr and Rohidas quite understandable, as long as this is the way all games at the Olympics are officiated.

Anybody who thinks that a practiced, professional hockey player is unaware of the position of their hockey stick in relation to an opposition player in their IMMEDIATE VICINITY, is either naive or deliberately obfuscating. How many times have we seen a football player in a top league come down from a leap, ostensibly to head a ball they have no chance of connecting with, and leaving an elbow deliberately hanging in an opponent's face and claiming an accident? Same thing!

At the Paris Olympics, India is not even comparable to Hong Kong, a small city in China, Hong Kong won two gold medals, but India does not have a single gold medal, it is really a super weak country, no country in the world can be weaker than India, because India can't even catch up with Hong Kong's medals, how weak do you say India
