Little known fact--Japan wanted a clause (racial equality proposal) to be included in the Versailles peace treaty stating the "all races are equal". Woodrow Wilson--an open racist--and the major "western" nations rejected the proposal. This angered Japan and led to their aggressive desire to make Asia a world superpower leading up to WWII,

Less than 30 years later, japan invaded its neighbors and starts being racist lol. Japan was so close to being fully democratic and was extremely well developed.

bomjam 2 no, the reason they wanted a racial equality wasn’t for the sake of other people of colour but mainly for overseas Japanese studying in the western world. Many of the had difficulties getting in, getting access to markets education etc The reason they became expansionist is fairly simple: resources hence they took Manchuria, Korea and wanted to dominate China (to make them a market for Japanese goods) take the south east for the oil and minerals there.

Last Friday was 3.6.'22 My 3rd son said he prayed upstair alone of a mosque. Hot. No air flowing inside out. His grandmother confirmed my narration about my son's experience of that particular days of performing Friday congregation. She also complained; the similar experience of being upstair of that building. Many fans but she couldn't see where was the switches. I; on the other hand remember the old days of Abu Aiyuub. The prophet became his guest. As a mother, on thinking of that I feel lucky for yesterday's Friday. His grandmother said; "Peng-|a-jar|-an. Bi-ar|-kan pa-nas, la-in ka-li da-tang a-wal."

For all of you, Sal is incorrect in saying Lloyd George was of the UK. The United Kingdom did not formally come into existence until 1922. Back then it was just the English Empire or Great Britannia

The Germans weren't present at the Paris Peace Conference; the terms of the Treaty were presented to the Germans without discussion. The Royal Navy maintained a naval blockade of Germany until the Germans signed and much more ...

to be more specific, germany lost: 1. part of upper silesia which became part of poland 2. danzig became a "free city" 3. and the rhineland became a buffer zone.

It should be noted this treaty was about revenge and land grabbing not justice or any moral reasonableness. it only had taken 20 years before they were once again at it. There is a fine line between justice, hatred and revenge. in this case it cost millions their lives, with blood and treasure!

People tend to agree the Versailles treaty was unfair...but to say they had it coming? No. That is dumb. They did not have it coming.

They didn't. The reparations were indeed a significant factor for the detrimental state of the German economy in the 1920's. Especially with the occupation of the Ruhr by the French gangsters.
