@@sophiajacklyn7533 get over yourself, its dangerous, it makes the bridge unstable and the railings can't handle the weight. People being cheesy and eventually breaking up instead of actually getting married is no excuse for public safety, and doesnt give people a reason to damage infrastructure
You could spend 25€ on a lock that's going to jeopardize the safety of a structure, pollute the waters and that is going to be removed in a couple of months anyway Why tho Why
Even tho people think that it’s sweet but it is a harm to the environment and this is the worst way to show your affection with someone if you want to be with that person just buy a commitment ring honestly, thanks for reading my ted talk
Everyone in the video cooing at love and mad they aren't allowed to destroy things.....tf. Most people would have trouble lifting a half full bucket of those locks so lets just weigh down historical things with about ten thousand more buckets of themmm....cuz love....
They should melt them all and make them into like a big tower or Bridge where other people can clip locks onto it and then when that gets too much the Melt the locks that were clipped onto it and build more on to that thing they makes the last ones so then they will always be remembered there or maybe they could have something where they can carve it into
I have suggestion for Paris govenment what to do with locks, bee good idea to melt them and from steel make some statue dedicated to Love and display it in some park in Paris :)
I understand it is a suggestion however I don't think it would be fit for Paris. At least not in the heritage rich centre but instead elsewhere. But also one would have to weigh up the pros and cons and cost benefit of going through and re-casting all those metals. Because the locks range from so many different types of metal, they would have to send it to a metal merchant and ask him to separate the different metals. Bearing in mind he has his own shipments coming in by the tonne each day to deal with. So he would have to shut down the facility's shipments so that only the locks are taken in and separated into the individual metals. The reason one has to separate them is that certain alloys don't do well outdoors including certain steels. Also by melting them all one might find the new alloy is too week.
.....after seeing that much of locks, clean the lake too,it can be good building materials....ya know,recycling.....thise useless locks mean nothing......cause there is something called a ring of lock or marriage,it locks your love real good
Thank god. Stop destroying the bridge and stop polluting the water by throwing the damn keys in the river. Melt the locks down for scrap metal or make artwork out if them and place them where they wont destroy the infrastructure and so people can still hang the locks.
Melt the Locks and make an amoulment..Also digitise the some where on the bridge rails by installing a screen where on can come with a partner and lock thier love
They can’t just fix the bridge in an hour and go back to normal lmao the bridge isn’t suppose to have 750 thousand locks attached to it if you wanna show your love get married or go somewhere nice
Melt them down, and create a new, mega lock, do it each year, and attach the mega locks to a new, reinforced Eiffel Tower, then after the tower collapses, melt it down, and create a new bridge. Circle of life 🌈
*Hey friend I got my relationship fixed back with the help of a man who brought my partner back in 48 hours after many years of seperation. This is how to say thank you to him by telling other people that needs help like me.
Chris Marshall people have put these things there as tokens of their love. I’m not soppy but it’s their way of showing some affection with a bit of fun. ‘Melt it down for scrap’ is a bit of a sociopathic thing to say. Maybe your wife’s wedding ring should be melted down for scrap too. I reckon yours may as well be, cos you haven’t got a scrap of romance in your heart.
I was scrolling through comments and saw all the hate for the locks and I can understand that’s destroying monuments but it’s not trash! Those pocks are people’s hope for their love! You can’t say that’s ugly. Each of those locks mean something to someone and now their gone! I mean it is destroying property and they could find a better safer way to show love but honestly it’s rude for others to hate. I think they should build a specific place for tourists to put lovelocks instead of just breaking and ruining them. Sorry if that makes you mad that’s just my opinion...
They're sure as hell NOT an eyesore (except to sad jackasses that can't get a partner, probably even by their own fault) and instead show how many happy couples there are all over the world. On the other hand the weight problem can't be denied, especially on a bridge of which a part already collapsed under the weight of those locks. The grids that the locks are attached to probably weighed only like 20 - 30 kilos when they were empty. Now, with the weight of all those locks each of them must be weighing somewhere around a TON! I've seen another video on this topic and they had to use a crane with a steel beam to lift them, with 2 chains at the ends and additional 2 in the middle to avoid having the whole thing bend. Meanwhile my girlfriend and me are planning to attach a lock to the Hohenzollern-bride in cologne and shoot the keys off the bridge and into the river using a slingshot. Lock's on the way.
