About Encounter (남자친구):
Cha Soo Hyun (Song Hye Kyo) is the daughter of a powerful, political family. She recently divorced her wealthy husband from an arranged marriage. Tired of living life guided by others, she decides to travel overseas. She meets Kim Jin Hyuk (Park Bo Gum), a free-spirited young soul on the way. Despite their differences, they are undeniably drawn to each other.
Will the two find true love amongst their differences?

Yes, me too with my nth time watching.I just love how these two good friends in real life could put front their high standard of work ethics and professionalism in order to play the character they portray in a convincing and realistic manner. I could sense the great trust and respect between SHK & PBG as professional artists. Their true friendship helped them a lot in order to come up to a realistic and superb acting. The story is beautiful and the drama is highly commendable to watch if you are looking for a high quality drama. Good luck SHK & PBG. This is year 2022 and I still love to watch Encounter over and over again.💯👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤

Beautiful drama with beautiful scenes, music and people and very heartwarming words. It was almost like a picture book with beautiful poems. Song Hye Kyo is a super professional & forever beautiful actress and Park Bo Gum's acting skill is getting better and better! I guess he is sweet and his real character is very close to Jin-Hyuk.

What age gap? They closed it so beautifully with their off-the-chart chemistry!! They look like a beautiful screen couple in love in this romance drama and I must thank the PD for visualizing PBG with SHK to produce such a magical love story!! PBG and SHK are superb with their performance and Boyfriend is the best slow-burn romance story ever!! Their visual is awesome and hope to see them costar again...not quite possible by Korean entertainment industry but I hope some PD will work with both of them again!

Viewers shd focus on the storyline itself & not in their private lives. Bogum & Soon Hye has a tremendous partnership on screen. Looking for more projects of both actors.

Great show! My wife and I really enjoyed Encounter-Great feeling . Pity there aren't more of these shows- 16 episodes-pity there weren't many more. Great lead actors -Pleasure to watch.. Korean dramas are really good.

Didn't expect park bo gum's chemistry with Song hye kyo. i actually didn't mind their age gap. 🥰 This drama is just wonderfully made♥️ I wish one day I could see Bogum in a drama with Kim Ji Won. As far as I know, she rarely accepts projects these days and her leading men were always older than her (idk if that is just coincidence) if she would be paired up with Bo Gum someday, that would be something new but I can already feel their chemistry 🥰

@@Youknowwhathido I've watched several high school dramas in the past and I seriously don't want to watch one ever again. They're so unrealistic and frustrating and so immature. The only high school drama I like is Reply 1988 but it's not mainly focused in the high school and it's a super realistic drama without all the drama if you know what I mean haha

@@양지혜-i3h I'd say Cheer up or Sassy Go Go is pretty realistic in depicting the Asian parents' obsession with Ivy league schools and the pressure that entails along with its consequences. I love it bc it reminds you of the true definition of a student in this highly competitive world.

Aww I wish VIKI would include other bogum's drama as well. He did not acted in 3 dramas only though. Anyway am loving this drama. It's true he smiles a lot in the early episodes but as the story progresses, when the conflict kicks in, bogum portray the role perfectly. It's gender reversal story but I love how the drama show the slow burning romance drama. How they address the age gap issue and now i get it why they purposely chose this couple. #Boyfriend #Encounter hwaiting!!

@@taylor6101ful I'm watching ep5 right now. 😉 Have you seen Kimi wa Petto (2017)? The Japanese one with Jun Shison? Kim Jin-hyuk's character reminded me a lot of Momo in that one. I mean their core characteristic is to provide comfort to the person they deeply care about. The two stories have a lot else in common, if you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it. I wonder whether Encounter was inspired by the original Kimi wa Petto manga. 🙂 There is a Korean version too but the two adaptations are very different in their tone. I'm absolutely fond of the Japanese one because in comparison the Korean one didn't really aim to address the depth of emotions enough to my liking.

Currently watching this drama today, i think somethings wrong with me for shipping President Cha and her ex husband. Lol yes PBG and SHK cahracters are both cute together, but inner me wants her and her ex to get back together and give it another try. Looool but i am still in ep8 so maybe my ship would change along the way. Haha
