I grew up in Arizona and we always had parties in the desert to avoid all the problems that could occur in populated areas. Other than DUI, they should be left alone...seriously, an unauthorized party? Who do they think they are? If you can't do what you want in the middle of nowhere, you are living in an authoritarian police state with less freedom that you are deluded into believing that you have.

I randomly found one of these random parties of thousands down at sycamore creek last year before covid. It was SO cool!! Took us hours to get back out hahah so much traffic

Can confirm. New neighbor is from CA and called PD on me for cleaning up her leaves that were blowing around my yard. Completely normal thing to help a neighbor in the Midwest but to a Californian apparently it’s a crime.
All should be fined and made to do community service. Everyone wants to get outside and enjoy our parks but it is irresponsible people like this doing illegal acts that will cause them to be closed again.

@@dankdizzl3546 The video said they were peeing on the ground. Is that not where they go in Tonto? In Redwood, it’s not good to pee on trees, since that’s the thing, so you pee on rocks. In Yosemite, it’s all about the rocks, so it’s better to pee on the trees. In the video of the Tonto, I saw no trees or rocks, lots of dust and dirt. If that’s the thing I can understand why it was mentioned in the video.
@@giordanobruno1333 I mentioned before. Tonto is the largest if six NFs in Arizona. That section they were in doesn't have many large trees. But just a few miles North there are tons of trees in the NF
@@fpscanada3862 no..good try, ....maybe because they're overwhelming a delicate natural area and damaging it, blocking use by others, creating an intimidating atmosphere for families who may want to visit, blocking emergency vehicles, probably tons of drug/alcohol use and general chaos. Reminds me of high school. Not sure if you've seen the new lately of "take over" culture, but teens/adults are blocking off intersections or freeways to spin their wheels for everyone to see, and ultimatly get the cops to chase them.....it's a classic case of big people who have never grown up.

@@fionnmaccumhaill3257 in the middle of a protected ecosystem you mean. There's a lot of life in a desert living on a knife edge as it is. Throw a bunch of alcohol-fuelled yahoos at it with 4x4s and there's going to be carnage. Usually they don't get caught, we just lament the damage.
@@yellowwoodstraveler Thanks for telling me what I mean. We had these desert parties all the time in the seventies and eighties. It allowed us kids to cut up and let loose without parents, teachers, or cops around. We'd buy new plastic trash cans and fill them with Everclear and grape juice and ice. It was a safe place to have fun this way without getting into trouble. As far as the "ecosystem", that was not a common word in our vocabulary back then...especially pertaining to the desert. The desert was extremely vast and lethal if you got lost in it or were unaware of the other dangers as well. It was so vast and expansive and extreme that everybody in public school had to take "Outdoor Arizona" as a safety course for survival in case you got lost or ran out of gas somewhere. It was not a joke. So now now maybe the population and growth had been such that it's not so vast anymore? I don't know. These parties were also important to us because if you didn't have a pool, you had nothing to do back then and you'd go a little crazy from being couped up as it was too hot to be active outside except at night. Summertime during the daytime was 115°-125°. The last time I was there when I left there, it was at midnight and it was 102°! So, I guess we're coming at this from different perspectives.
@@fionnmaccumhaill3257 I understand, but you didn't have thousands showing up at these parties I'm sure. And just because"ecosystem" wasn't a familiar word for you 50 years ago doesn't mean there wasn't one. There also wasn't a pandemic going on...
