Great review. Nice that you included the 1 month follow up unlike a lot of reviews that just unbox, fiddle with the thing for a bit then call it a review.

I feel like initial impressions are always going to be more positive so I try to use a produce as long as is reasonable prior to a review. Thanks for watching!

Thank you! Trying to decide between the 10.2 & 25. No doubt I’d prefer the 25 for weight/portability, and storage. $125 is a big price jump though! ETA: Bought the 25. Love it!!!

I think you’re winning either way, I just personally really like the clamp on the 25. Either is going to do your great job though.

I have the 10.2 and I also now have the 25. Just assembling the 25 stand for use, is so much easier. Changing the height when the bike is on the stand is so much easy. After every use of the stand, I fold it back up and store it in the garage. The 25 is a dream compared to the 10.2.

The Park PCS 9.2 has butterfly (twist) knobs to raise the height of the stand. The old PCS 9 only had the Allen key style. 9.2 and 10.2 are very similar

Appreciate the review, good clarification on the two Park stands. Im looking to pick up another Park stand and believe the 10.2 is the winner for my use.

Good review and I think I'm going to spring for this stand. I generally prefer to purchase higher quality tools, and I've used crappy stands in the past. They suck. Nice bike too.

I have had this stand for 5 years and love it. I bolted a short galvanized pipe to my wall which the jaws clamp to so I can store it on the wall. My only gripe is that PT used regular steel and NOT stainless for the few exposed metal bits. I use the stand to wash my bikes and now the bolts and metal support brackets for the legs are rusting and staining the painted parts. Why in the world didn’t they use stainless!? Pretty cheapie move. Oh, and the wheel truing accessory is made for this, but you have to pay a LOT more for it to be thru axel compatible! Another ridiculous profiteering-and-not-in-the-best-interest-of-the-customer decision.

Love the idea of having something to clamp it to for storage. Solid.

Why would you use such an expensive stand to wash bikes? I use the oldest and the most beaten up stand in my garage to wash bikes. All others are stored indoors.

I’ve had my prs-25 for almost 10 years now and still love it! I use the prs-2 at my shop and it’s even better. I am not a fan of the pcs stands at all.

Great review! Can I ask, what does the "pro level" clamp on the PRC-25 have that the clamp on the PCS-10.2 does not have?
@DrJMTB
@DrJMTB 4 года назад
The 25 has the "micro adjust" function where you can actually tighten or loosen it with the clamp clamped and I do use this feature a lot. The PRS-25 also has a wider range diameter for clamping.

Why are you clamping against the top cap and collar of the outer housing of your dropper? You should extend the dropper completely, then clamp to the inner post only. check out Park Tool's own Calvin Jones, talking about this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ix_e6LWvap0.html By clamping where you are, you're reducing the surface area where the clamp makes contact, increasing the load (PSI) and applying the full load onto that smaller, less durable part, especially if you are rotating the clamp to tilt the bike. Otherwise, this help video helped. Thanks for the good review of the aluminum Park Tool. I'm also looking at the Park Tool PCS-10.2, the Feedback Sports Sport Mechanic Pro, and 2 Bottom Bracket Support Stands: the Feedback Sprint and the Park Tool PRS-22.2. Will be making a decision soon...

I've since been made privy to the video you're referring to and I now clamp the stanchion of the post now as it describes. Thanks for your feedback.

Is it best to clamp 9n a seat post over the seat post collar / seal (as you did in the video) rather than higher up onto the main seat post shaft?

I have issue that if i pull out upper part then height adjustment collar will slide off… when I tighten screw more then I am not able to slide upper part of stand… Do you have that issue? It is annoying because some time I grab it lower part slides out and fall on ground … or when I have bike attached then I cannot adjust height because collar will slide of lower part

Hi thanks for making this video, there aren't that many out there. I bought a prs 25 and was wondering if yours makes any squeaky sounds when you apply mild pressure like when you were pushing the stand mounted with a bike on the video. I bough it and it makes a loud squeaking/creeking sound with mild pressure or pushing.. which is pretty disappointing given the price. Thanks !
@DrJMTB
@DrJMTB 4 года назад
No squeaking, but I wonder if a dab of grease in the area its coming from wouldn't help. I'm still using mine almost daily and loving it. If that doesn't get it, I'd reach out to Park Tools as I'm sure they wouldn't love hearing that.

Oh man, this is gonna be a long shot, but im hoping you can help me troubleshoot. I just picked up this stand and screwed the clamp on but when I put my daughters kiddie bike, for some reason it’s not holding its rotation. Any ideas? Also, after screwing the clamp on, Im able to easily pull the clamp out leaving the threaded bullet behind and the tapered donut falling out, is that normal?
@DrJMTB
@DrJMTB 2 года назад
The clamp should easily hold a kids bike in any rotation. I’d start over and see if something is off. If not, I’d contact Park
@rwave24
@rwave24 2 года назад
@@DrJMTB hey, thanks for the quick reply, when mine was shipped, the bolt and washer inside had grease, I assumed that’s normal, but the plastic housing and wedge got greasy as well, I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Are you also able to pull the clamp off once everything is connected?

I chucked my PRS-25 out of my workshop after one hour of trying to use it safely because it's unstable and wobbles like a pool noodle. I'll stay away from Park Tool.
