I love my Omega 49 Boar. At the beginning i had problems with it, because i never made enough soap in it. Wehen i realized and changed it, it start working really well. Making easy a great foam. love it! And it costs me around 10 Dollars (9 Euro). AWESOME!! Only the smell at the beginning... Have a great Weekend, Jens

I have the Parker 24C and I bet they are the same razor except for the handle finish. If that is true then you should buy one. It is a great razor with virtually no overhang. Thanks for the video Geo!

Very nice! Didn't know Parker made open comb razors. I'll look into it. Right now I have the Muhle R41 and Merkur 15c.

Like that trick with Alum block stretching the skin.... will definitely use that! Also I agree with the Astra blades... great blades... in fact I only use Russian blades now... really do the trick.

Overall Astra are my favourite. Very sharp, smooth and agressive. Ridiculously well priced too. I like Derby Premium and recently Tiger Superior Stainless. Both worth a try if you enjoy Astra Greens👍

Geo, Great video! I haven't tried an open comb yet, but I just received a really nice 1909 Gillette single ring. Do you know how it compares to the 63C? Thanks for great content!

Thanks Leo, I own a bunch of Old School Gillettes, but no single rings. I can tell you that this razor is quite mild, maybe similar to a Super Speed in shave provided.

I have a question: will the rose gold finish stay that way??? I owned the Parker 65r for less than a year and all the gold etching turned green! I babied that thing too...

How is it different from Parker 24c or 26c except the look? Is there any difference amongst the heads, weight or any other physical parameter which affect the shaving quality

So the R41 is much more aggressive than this one so will the r41 give a much smoother 1 pass shave? I'm currently using a closed comb Gillette adjustable set to 9 for max aggressiveness and wanting something that'll shave a little smoother and have no experience with open combs. I shave my entire head and most of my face except the chin and looking for something that'll shave closer without going against the grain or go against the grain easier one. Thought I'd ask your opinion since it seems you've tried many. Thanks

R41 is probably the best safety razor I ever used. Very effective with all blade types & provides the smoothest shave I ever had!

I got this in 2017 every month I would soak the top 2 pieces in water and vinegar to de-lime the razor from the hard water. The rose gold color is fading away and this last time I soaked them the threaded post was eaten away where the handle won’t screw on. So i’m disappointed that the rose gold color doesn’t last and the threaded post didn’t last. I’ve heard a few people have had issues with the threaded post from normal use. Looking at an Edwin Jagger now hoping I don’t have same problem

I'm guessing the acidity in the vinegar is not playing nice with the rosegold finish.

Another great review Geo. I have the Muhle R89 Open Comb and it's very aggressive. After 3 passes my face looked like a battle map of Gettysburg. How would you compare the Parker 63C to the Muhle?

You must have mistaken the closed comb for the razor Mühle 89. The open comb is R41. If we compare the open comb from Mühle and from Parker. That Parker is much milder. One of the most mild razors with an open comb.)

I think you have the Mühle R41 Open comb razor. The R89 is a closed comb (flat bar) safety razor. The R41 is "Beast Mode" shaving compared to the R89 or the 63C.
