Parker Valby after winning 2023 NCAA XC title 

Parker Valby is a true inspiration, fighting back from setbacks to win 2 National Championships this year.

Parker is a natural. You could tell the odds of her being great were high after she won her Track and Field NCAA title with minimal training.

Congratulations to Parker! It's so nice to see her succeed after struggling so much with injuries in the past. I just love watching her run!

Parker powered up those hills. To her critics, It's just a hill and I got over it.

The arc trainer and Palmer program. Improvements in her overall strength, form, speed, and confidence (hills and flats) since Stillwater. Quads and stride more developed. Team motivation and growing trust bringing out her talent.

It would be great to hear about her training regimen.

Hats off to Lananna and company for that course. So much better than the course I ran on when I ran the NCAAs. Happy for Valby. IMO, she was the better runner last year, but lacked the experience to win the tactical game. I think a page has turned now in women's collegiate running.

Last year she took wide turns around the corners, get the feeling she could have saved herself 20-30-40 meters (hard for me to estimate what extra work she was doing, but it was something) I just get the feeling she just likes to run, as said elsewhere "she's a natural" and if she wins, great. Maybe the new UF XC coach told her she could save a little time if... Would have loved to see the Tuohy Valby head-to-head but both got something out of this.

When Parker lost at Stillwater [my alma mater] last year, I commented that her diesel engine running style would best Katlyn if she could traverse the angles better and the temperature was more moderate. Of course, my comment was scorned at by Katlyn fans for good reason. Touhy has been a phenom since high school. It appears Valby is significantly physically stronger than last year.

Well done Parker, great talent. And there is no need to announce that you are going to tell the truth.

I’m not going to lie. I think all the critics of her training methods and running distances are going to have to eat some crow and rethink their strategies. I’ve seen many talented young girls get injured because their bodies couldn’t handle the pain and stress of high mileage that their coaches insisted on. If Parker continues to mentally mature she is only going to get better.
