I only recently got into this boot world and was pretty happy with my collection. I also live in Buffalo and only just found out parkhurst was based here. I guess i have no choice but to get a pair. Gotta support local!
So awesome to see someone else with these! They were my first pair for parkhurst as factory seconds, so they were lacking a bit of wax. I rewaxed them following your video and they've been fantastic.
Teik you're the reason I have a Parkhurst addiction! It's a good thing if you ask me. It's not so good if you ask my wife!😅 For me the Parkhurst design style works the best with suede, rambler and rough out leathers. Those leathers emphasize the rugged and sophisticated style of Parkhurst.
There is nothing rugged about the boots. My cheapest pair of Jim Greens surpasses parkhurst in the rugged/support department. Its a fashion boot and shouldn't be suggested as anything other than that.
I've tried...I've really tried... to like waxy suede but having only owned one waxy suede boot I just kept on looking down and thinking my boots were muddy and needed a clean. Personal preferences aside, CF Stead do a waxy suede roughout as well. If you have a look at the Grant Stone Edward boot in Dark Oak roughout that is actually a waxed roughout leather from Stead (much to my disappointment as I thought it was just a standard roughout).
CF Stead has a number of offerings I very much like. Viberg offers their Rockland Bkychers in their Janus Calf Suede and several Waxy Commanders. They all look interesting to my eye.
Just picked up my second pair of Parkhurst, mainly because of how highly you praise them. I’m a convert. The 618 and 602M are at the top of my favorite lasts list.
@@250fTrailRider yes and no. The Leo is more standard single width in the heel and waist. I wear both in 8D and the Leo is great but I feel the Parkhurst is a better overall fit
