Extremely interesting. My husband has been diagnosed with PD for 15 years and this explains many phenomena I have observed. I went years not quite understanding why I would get so frustrated with this behavior because of the slow progression and his denial. He is a psychiatrist and when attending neuro appts could hide this.
In minute 32:55 Dr. K mentions neuropathy in hands and feet. My husband's had sensations of "bands" around his wrists/ankles for months. PT did not give a suggestion of what it might be. Now sensations are spreading to forearm s and calves. He has less hand function. Numbness in hands and feet. Neurologist did EMG, which showed carpal tunnel sx. My husband's had carpal tunnel surgery in the past. This is not the same at all. Any suggestions? Is this neuropathy? Should we look for a hand therapist? Thank you.

Very comprehensive. I have often been abruptly awakened to find myself wrestling with the night table. Numerous hard landings being thrown off the bed during a dream hit by a wave or thrown off a sled on the ice. Curious where these 2 examples fit in.

I’m currently being evaluated for PD and I’m so glad I found this because I was worried that I might have LBD because I’d experienced the cognitive issues about 7 years ago and it was bad. At that time, I was on Percocet for pain and on xanax for anxiety, but never made a connection. Once I dc’d those meds I no longer experienced the symptoms of psychosis and my cognition improved somewhat. I was also on several meds for gastric issues and that may have contributed to it. I’ve also been on pramipexol for severe RLS. I’m not able to get off that medication. I can’t take Benadryl due to side effects, so I’m good there. I’m beginning to think I’ve had PD since my late 40’s and I’m 62 now.
Hi Victoria - It can be such a complex group of symptoms to understand and manage. Add medications and it can get even more hard to parse out what is what. Many people look back and can see when their Parkinson's started. I hope your current care plan is allowing you to feel better, and you have a good medical team. Best to you.
I am still in the newly diagnosed phase but not in the symptoms phase. About 5 yrs ago I would hear my mom call my name, sometimes in another voice but mostly hers or I would see a spider or a small mouse 🐀 run across in my side vision. I always thought it was normal to hear on occasion someone calling your name or seeing small things. I've since learned it's an auditory hallucination for the voice. I've had Lewy Body ruled out by Pet scan. My hunch is its PDD. Maybe I can see Dr K as I'm only 45 min from him 🙂
