@@VenomousWolverineThen you’re not looking hard enough it’s faster you also recover a lot quicker so it’s gonna feel a lot better since this is actually designed for parkour and Valhalla was not so it’s ganna feel great Running around the city since it’s designed for it.
Overall not much has changed with the parkour itself its just a little faster. The focus in this game was simply to improve the environment and make it more parkourfriendly. Me personally I don't mind, every step in the right direction should be acknowledged. From what I am seeing the game looks far more like an Assassin's Creed than the most recent titles before. I'd rather have AC Mirage than a second Odyssey or Valhalla.
@@liambarber3180criticise the game all you want for copy and pasting parkour or having bad combat or whatever but if youre actually pressed about the "teleportation" it means you havent understood anything about assassins creed at all.
@@CHEESEpuff69 uh huh.. actually now that you say that I remember that being able to perform a teleport assassination like in shadow of war has always been within the assassin's creed franchise... Like wtf are you talking about dude? 💀😂
@@CHEESEpuff69 you do realize that majority of Assassin's Creed games never had Teleportation kills my guy...this aint the Multiplayer mode. Even though I don't have a problem with it but it ain't return to the roots.
The thing that hurts me is that the environment looks like a return to it's roots but they clearly haven't changed any of the parkour animations. I get they can be tough to do for each new entry but they couldn't have made them a bit different from the past 3 games.
Jesus. Ya know I waited for this one to go on sale and picked it up to try. I’ve found myself really enjoying it. I’ve played every single AC game, Even the HORRIBLE Nintendo DS ones. I can guarantee half the ppl commenting here didn’t even touch AC: Mirage and just hopped on the bandwagon hate. Thats the internet for you. So for someone who has thousands of hours across the franchise…try mirage out, because I wouldn’t feel like I wasted my money even if I paid the full $40. most of these comments are “reading the first comment and then flat out agreeing and dog piling on the same topic” And also, what next gen game at launch starts at $40? None. The rest are stfu and give me $70
I swear to god assassins creed fans are like cod fans. Tf u expecting, him to fly? They are going to use the same system obviously, the thing that changes is they way you approach the game. Give the devs some time, creating a entirely new parkour system takes some time, so let’s give the devs time.
Okay I missed the gameplay last video I watched but I really to appreciate the gameplay is back to the roots basically what they did with Unity with the up close over the shoulder style and more things to cling and climb onto for stealth but the RPG elements I really don’t know if it’s a fit for this game style…seems like a Frankenstein type game
Mirage feels like AC1 but with modern gameplay mechanics and obviously modern graphics and I am good with that. That is what we wanted from the rest anyway. Add in new stuff sure but don't change the system so drastically like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.
Wow, the fastest Assassin so far (according to Ubisoft at least) is about as fast as a Viking tank. Back to the roots does not mean releasing the same game with another setting again
Eivor moves are more paused, while Basim jumps and grabs are more energetic, it's not Unity animations but it's indeed a mix of movements like Altair and Ezio had
Never had to chance to play all the greats. Only ac games I played from top to bottom were Revelations and Syndicate. Still doesn’t look like it’s “back to its roots”
For people saying it's not changed at all from valhalla Differences - you're an assassin - parkour is much faster and more fluid - running away is the recommended approach - the story is likely better - the map is designed specifically for running away and being overcrowded with enemies on ground - they are bringing back the filter from ac1 - the camera is more centured to give the feel of the old games - the soundtrack makes the gameplay more intense - you will unlock gadgets as you progress though the more linear storyline adding a further emphasis on growing as an assassin rather than just being more of a bullet sponge by endgame like in valhalla
Basim is for sure faster. Also this isn't showing contextualized jump spots like waist high objects or pole vaulting. It also isn't displaying social stealth. Everyone in the comments crying about how it's a clone when they've only seen a total of 10 minutes gameplay
@@mentallyub409You’ve only seen 10 minutes of gameplay lol, Basim would probably be faster if he would sprint but overall the parkour similar from what I’ve seen. Ubisoft barely went in-depth with the parkour in Mirage gameplay walkthrough. Especially probably wall eject will return, you’ll never know. Just don’t jump to conclusions so fast…….
@@lilbroomstick151 u think they decided to hide some new cool parkour tricks? lol. And even if they did, I doubt that they added something really cool and unic. I can say that by looking at all AC games starting from 2017. Parkour is mostly the same, they wont bother wasting money on developing new parkour system or implementing one from the AC unity
@@mentallyub409 Your not understanding what I’m saying, you’ve only saw a little bit of parkour from basim jumping from pole to pole also you’re proving my point by jumping to conclusions so fast, lol. You can’t prove that there won’t be any returning parkour moves from unity nor AC1 without playing the game or testing it out for yourself. Like I said, the guy who was playing Mirage in the gameplay walkthrough was barely sprinting probably cause Ubisoft didn’t want us fans to complain how the sprint animation is similar to Valhalla. Don’t be so close minded.
@@lilbroomstick151 not close minded. I just know it is modern Ubisoft. Before, AC games was constantly evolving. Now? For 6 years we see no changes in core mechanic of the whole AC series. Mirage could bring something new, but now as I saw gameplay, I doubt.
I been saying from the beginning it probably ain’t gonna be shit. They reused all of Valhalla’s assets because it was supposed to be a DLC for Valhalla. This was a simple con for more money.
Y’all hating but y’all are the same people that played 3 ezio games with the same movement. That then went on to play 3 kenway trilogy games WITH THE SAME MOVEMENT. Doesn’t matter tho cause every assassins creed that’s released since the the orginal has recieved complaints from a community that can never be happy. Ac3 has a long prologue👶🏻. Ac4 has too much boat travel👶🏻. Ac revelations is repetitive. Nothing makes an assassins creed fan happy.
I think it’s a small bit of false advertisement when they don’t bother to recreate a game from the ground up and instead decide to use the engine from a game hardly anyone liked. Then to say it’s a “return to the roots”. Execs are going to think “we already tried going back to the roots and it didn’t work”. Just sad. Assassins creed is really dead.
I knew it, since the teaser of Mirage parkour, i already feel weird about the jumping and falling animation. Lmao they literally just changed the setting of the game
Yeah, obviously they didn’t really evolve the parkour anymore from Valhalla, they just made Baghdad more “parkour-able” than England. I’m more excited to see what happens in the coming years with Red and Hex than this game.
I still love this game. Yes the parkour is pretty much the same but why does the game have to be a failure? You play as an ASSASSIN for the first time since 2017.
I was honestly really hoping they'd have the same parkour style as Unity, and a good storyline like AC2 and Brotherhood, it's so disappointing that it took them all these years just to give us the same game as Valhalla. Mirage is only a few decades apart from Valhalla, different character, story and location. Personally, I wish they'd get rid of the whole "level up your character" aspect. It kills the games for me. I guess I'll be sticking to the older AC games still once again. Very piss poor execution on their games lately.
The levelling works with the story though, it’s not an rpg element like the games you’re comparing it to. Plus, I mean you sound like you’re tryna hate it to be honest. You’ve not even played the game yet and this video was 2 months ago. Since then I’ve seen countless people (in RU-vid comments, which really says a lot) say that Ubisoft has attempted to speed parkour up and the animation has less stutters… Idek man, I’m sceptical but hopeful. You’re sceptical and acting like you’re right already haha.
@@DEADEYESSS I'm just worried it's gonna be how the others were, my dad preordered it already, and though I've seen more recent gameplay, it does look smoother than it did a few months ago. I never said I was right either, I just have my own opinion.
All these ranting comment and I can bet mirage sell will be crazy, and consider it came just from a DLC it will be their yet most profitable AC entry. Just give me a good story and lore and I will be happy 😊 Valhalla stealth and assassin mechanics is honestly already OK

I can't decide wether Ubisoft's marketing team is genius or straight up shameless. To make a game out of what was supposed to be a DLC, put a filter that makes the game look like the AC1, and boldly say: "Back to the roots". And people are already falling for it! No wonder they called it: "Mirage". 😂
Dude, y'all are acting offended when a game that they made using the same engine as Valhalla, moves similar to Valhalla? Honestly, with mirage, I feel like we got the best possible outcome, and yet people raise their expectations to limitless bounds and are angry when they are not reached.

"Yeah that is a great idea, you deserve a raise". Ubisoft 2023
Unity comes from the most hated to super overrated. The bug is still there, I can't even jump from bastille prison, the parkour animation is top notch but control is janky AF compared to syndicate or even black flag, not even talking about the bootleg romeo and juliet story. Its not the Valhalla engine, you are getting confused. This is all motion capture data. Nothing to do with the Engine that has been used since 2007, the Anvil Engine.
Why are people so mad at this they went from Valhalla to a game that some consider better then unity its not perfect but if you dont like the parkour 9 times out of 10 your just bad and if you do just play it for the parkour and got disappointed tough luck I guess go play unity
For people saying it's bad parkour, it's not, even the Valhalla's one. This video shows that the world design, Architecture and setting are more important than the parkour itself. Still it doesn't reach the level of the older games.
Indeed, the problem with parkour for the last games is that the world is not built around the mechanic. Still, I expected something a bit more different
A return to non-RPG gameplay (no levelled enemies, 1-hit kill Assassinations, no XP based Skill Tree). A return to Espionage and Stealth gameplay features and mechanics (intel gathering by pickpocketing, tailing targets, eavesdropping. Blending into crowds, on benches, in rooftop hideaways etc). A return to linear storytelling (no more branching paths and multiple gender-swapped characters, Basim's story here will be the exact same for each player, it's a scripted story, curated experience like Ezio's Altair's and Connor's). A return to more dense environments and landscapes (this stands in direct opposition to Origin's Odyssey's and Valhalla's sprawling open environments with miles and miles of empty spaces, housing a handful of proper towns and cities between). A return to traditional combat with more grounded violence (Like the original trilogy, Basim is able to kill in a single attack if he times it right. No more hacking up an enemy for 8 years before seeing them finally fall). If there are any other concerns you have with Mirage, I'll do my best to put them to rest (with the limited information available to us), but at the end of the day, it's your purchasing decision. I don't speak for everyone, but this game is EXACTLY what I've been wanting from AC for a while now.
Ubisoft took 2 year gap and gave us Origins, which was truly unique and remarkable. But this time it looks like they just sat on their assess the whole time.
That's because "Origins" was always meant to introduce a new engine and gameplay - while "Mirage" was originally meant to be just a small DLC to "Valhalla", and became a seperate Game only like a year ago.
Valhalla’s Parkour wasn’t bad. It was poorly utilized. If they make some adjustments ans tweaks with building a city that works with it it may actually be not great but not as bad as in Valhalla
Everyone who is disappointed by the Parkour difference completely failed to realize that Mirage was initially made to be a DLC for Valhalla and was upgraded to full game. Of course the DLC for a game is going to be running on the same engine and have similar physics. Yall are setting yourselves up for disappointment thinking the games would be massively different beasts. You only have yourselves to blame.
How to make a decent AC game: 1. Assassin’s vs Templar’s 2. Have a modern setting for story 3. Base the story of a “piece of Eden” 4. Historical populated locations 5. Parkour
After playing mirage, I can safely say that mirage‘s parkour is 10 times better than valhalla‘s. It may looks similar but in mirage the parkour is so much faster. That guy from the walkthrough trailer didn’t even sprint. Of course he‘s slow
To be fair, Mirage is a half assed effort for a game which was meant to be DLC anyway. A smaller studio basically just had to use Valhalla's assets and animations and make it work in a small city. Hopefully we get a proper attempt by Ubisoft at a Mirage level AC
Honestly Valhalla looks like the better game. Mirage is only about 15-20 hours long despite still costing almost as much as Valhalla did with hundreds of hours of content, Mirage is not really a return to the roots like devs claim, and it won’t get any post launch support at all. Tbh anyone who buys mirage is getting ripped off hard and doing so willingly.
genuinely confused, because all ubisoft games before ac origins just seemed to feel good to play, and they all felt unique. but post ac origins, it feels like all their games use the same formula and just feel.. off. i don't exactly know how to put it, it's weird.
Why don’t people understand Assassins creed?…. A real fan would see that parkour evolves with time. Being that these games take place thousands of years in the past the parkour is not meant to look as good as it will thousands of years later. Just like the assassinations. After adopting the dual blades the assassinations became better and more advanced, same with newer inventions like rope darts, the phantom blade etc. As time went on, the brotherhood got better.
I don’t know why people so hate valhalla the story is top 3 in all the game’s history! Very high level writing… yes it’s rpg and the animation are not the best but the story and characters are 10!
I'm not seeing how people don't see it's much faster in Mirage. Not only that you are using an old first look video. Look at the new hands on content creator videos to see how much improved the parkour is.
In mirage Basim uses his bare hands when sliding down the rope (in real life his hands would burn I guess😂), whereas Elvor uses an axe which is more realistic
The transition in parkour feels so clunky in the recent games, is like the character doesnt have real weight, and Just keeps shifting between being a feather and an anvil
