Cast and cocreator of NBC's Parks and Recreation gather at PaleyFest LA 2014 to celebrate their show. Topics include: the cast's talents for improvising while in character; Amy Poehler as a positive feminist role model; whether the show accurately portrays the Midwest; Chris Pratt's memorable audition scene with Rashida Jones; the decision to tailor roles around the cast members' unique talents; the challenge of cutting episodes down to twenty-one minutes; the fun of having Nick Offerman's wife Megan Mullally on set; and how the characters' quirks and eccentricities inspire the actors.

I know the names of so many of his team members from fellow writers to producers and casting directors because he names them in podcasts and interviews and tells stories about them. It's so lovely to see such a hardworking and humble person get so far. Parks and Recreation was perfect! The Good Place was legendary! Brooklyn Nine Nine is witty and humorous! I'm so excited to see his future projects, I know they will be of such great standard.

That’s why everyone wants to work with/for him. It’s show biz, so brilliant a$$holes are a dime a dozen. But brilliant, generous, collaborative, kind-holes? Fewer and further between. Groups tend to mimic their leader. Talent attracts talent. Awesome attracts awesome.

the office was an incredible show but what makes parks so much better was the characters and the relationships/friendships that drove the show which was something the office lacked with the exception of a few relationships like jim and pam. :o)
@juliabray3506
@juliabray3506 4 года назад
@@brennafoley6835 I totally agree with that. I started watching The Office first and thought it was one of the best shows I've ever seen, but when I saw Parks and Recreation I knew that was actually better. I feel like in Parks and Recreation you get to know the characters better which makes you care about them. But, The Office was a good show I just didn't feel the connection with the characters. Plus, they're just two different types of shows.
