*Just completed a big trim project on my house **MyBest.Tools** Performed very well. Also appreciate how easy it is to move, set up and store with the integrated stand. No more cutting wood on my knees.*
Thank you for watching and commenting, apologies for the late reply. I did make a replacement fence for it but it was a bit too bulky. I did replace the throat plate with a steel one. I was noticing the plastic one was flexing as I was pushing wood though the blade. Regards Minhass
Another tip to smooth cuts is have the blade just taller than the wood rather than having it sticking right out of the table as you did in your first cut 👍 Edit: great straightforward review btw
Thank you for watching and commenting. Totally agree, having never used one before I wasn’t too sure what I was doing. I guess with every woodwork related, we find out the hard way. Kind regards Minhass
Great video! I am struggling to decide whether to buy one for my small workshop and this has really helped; at least I know what I'm dealing with now. Simple, no frills review - perfect! Someone suggested another video with the improvements you made to it; maybe you did this so I'll have a look at your other videos.
@@TheCustomCarpenter Hello Minhass, I got the machine and to be honest struggled with the build as the instructions weren't great. On using it I have found it very good value for money as a hobbiest. The small flaws you spoke of are just that, small flaws, I have used some pretty strong magnetic trays to counter the small movement of the guide rail with some success. If you have any more advice or tips I would be grateful. 👌
Very good presentation. I would also suggest that you add and demonstrate pre adjustment and/or pre-calibration prior to use: 1) How to check and set the table top to be flat. 2) How to check and set the blade is parallel to the Mitre slot. 3) How to check the fence is parallel to the blade. 4) How to check the blade actually at 90 degrees to the top once it is in 90 degree position. Recommend all those to be pre-checked / calibrate to make any cuts accurate. That is very important, but better design may be required as current looks a floppy. Otherwise great presentation. Thank you.
Good review. To minimize the risk of injury, the teeth of the blade should be about 1 centimeter higher than the thickness of the wood. 13:25 always push the material away from the blade and never leave the material there with the circular running and do not go over the axis of the blade, the material may be a little crooked and the blade may throw back if you did not push out. Sorry I'm not a native english speaker.
Hi, hope you’re well. Thank you for watching and taking the time out to comment, truly appreciated. That’s some really good advice thank you for sharing, you’ll be glad to know I have implemented everything you have mentioned. No need to apologise, your English is absolutely fine 👊🏽. Kind regards Minhass
@@Jizzlewobbwtfcus If the material is pushed towards a processing knife, always the cutting knife must come out of the material as little as possible and the material must be pushed further than the cutting knife, otherwise there is a risk that the material will be thrown back if you left on the table.
Mate thanks so much for this through review! I saw one today on the weekly shop with the lass for £50 (they must've been clearing them), my first thought was "how dangerous is it 😂" but after watching your vid i couldn't have snatched it up faster!
Hi thank you for watching and commenting. It does seem a bit intimidating at first but once you figure it out. It’s a walk in the park. Regards Minhass
I watched your presentation a few times with great attention. Did you manage to invest some time and fix a couple of issues you noted in this presentation? It will be very useful. Thank you and regards Leonard
they have these in lidl this coming sunday. im wondering if you found any other issues other than what you did in the video? im very tempted to buy one of these
Just bought one today and it looks like they changed a lot of the molding of some parts. Bloody instruction manual is different too and rather annoying but thx for the demo mate
One of the best reviews I've seen for a while. I love the look of this saw too. You don't sell ice to eskimos by any chance do you?. I want to get one of these now if they are still available anywhere.
Hi Dr 😎. Thank you for your comment and glad you enjoyed. It. They’re in Lidl still, I went this weekend and had some, mine is a ‘E’ and Lidl ones were ‘F’ no idea what differs them as the box looked the same and was £99 just like my one. Kind regards Minhass
Hi Kyriacos, no I’m Pakistani. No, can’t use Dado blades. I believe they are not eligible to be used in the UK, apparently they’re not safe for us to use.
@@TheCustomCarpenter thanks. i got it and used it cutting wood .my one the table was not straight had to cut angle irons and screw them under the table to make it straight.
Hi Nick, thanks for watching and commenting. Apologies for the late reply, Yes the other blade is better and gives smoother cuts as it has more teeth. It’s not the best nor perfect but pretty decent when needed. Kind Regards Minhass
Just bought one today. Having watched the video I'm pleased that I got one, I hope I'm not disappointed when I put it together but I'm pretty optimistic. Good video review mate👍
Hi Andy, thanks for watching and commenting. Glad you liked the video, much appreciated. Hey, it’s not the best but comes handy when needed. Hope you enjoy and get some use out of it on your projects. Kind regards Minhass
@@Shandinho thank you. Things have got quite busy and unfortunately I’ve not had much time for more uploads recently. Definitely more to come though. Take care Minhass
@@Shandinho totally agree, I’ve got some Parkside bits and bobs in the tool bag, I bought an impact driver from there last year for next to nothing. It works perfectly and competes with some of the high end ones.
Hi mate, thanks for watching, yea sure absolutely. I’m only using it here and there at the moment. Hoping to use it a lot more of the coming months. 👊🏽
Hi, thank you for watching and commenting, I was having this issue when wanting to cut slots for backing boards and box lids, I found removing the riving knife works a treat. Please be careful though. Kind regards Minhass
@@shanefreeney1043 just got to be careful doing it this way. You can adjust the height of the knife to its lower than the blade. This will also allow the knife to remain and not get in the way of the cut. Need to also make sure the blade and knife are lined up perfectly. If the knife is slightly out it will get in the way of your cut.
@@TheCustomCarpenter I cut my riving knife down in height just below the blade as it wasn't adjustable, I have the metal cabinet model. This allowed me to cut half-laps etc. whilst leaving the riving knife in place. I also riveted a 3mm plate over the front where the adjustment knobs are, cutting out slots & holes for them. I did this because my blade seemed to bounce up & down because of the thin material supporting the mechanism. My tablesaw also threw a bearing on the motor after a good amount of use so I replaced the armature bearings with quality items... I have a fully equipped machine shop so the mods were easy enough for me... in fact, I had to make a small puller to remove the armature bearings so as not to damage the delicate commutator... so I appreciate that others not so blessed with equipment might not be able to easily do what I did. All in all, I still think this little saw was worth the money... I have a cheap Scheppach tracksaw for breaking down sheets and this too is a Godsend.. 😎👍☘🍺
Thanks for watching Tony and glad you liked the video. My Lidl is not the best but every so often they have some right gems, I have been to other Lidl stores that have a lot more tools. You might have to visit a few maybe. Thanks again 👊🏽
I watched this video because Lidl will have these on sale from 7th of March and I need to convince myself to buy one 😁. Not sure if it will be the same model doesn't look to be, but close enough. Like you said for £100, can't go wrong! I bought the sliding mitre saw last week, that's a decent bit of kit as well
Hi, thanks for watching and your comment. I’ll defo be checking out their website and stores next weekend In that case. Thanks for the info 👊🏽. They’re both great pieces of kit, a lot of fun and more productive too.
@@TheCustomCarpenter Reason I bought the mitre saw was because I told the Mrs I could build our youngest a bed for less than the £100 she was going to pay for one. So guess what I'm starting this weekend? 😂
Hi, thank you for watching. I’ve not got round to it yet. I’m using a hardwood board for a straight edge using clamps. I will be replacing the throat plate and making a new wooden fence. Please check the comments as another viewer has made an amazing replacement fence with a clamp 👌🏽.
@@gwynnejones4458 thank you Gwynne, I’m looking to get the blade throat plate remade out of metal too, the plastic one is good but often flexes with heavy timber. Would love to see your plywood fence. 👊🏽
You are supposed to push the wood forward several times faster than you did. This is why the quality of your cuts were poor. Also the higher tooth count blade will get you smoother cuts too, the 24 tooth is for rough cuts. It would be great if you could re-test this on camera with the higher tooth count blade and push the wood 3x faster then we can see what cut quality it can really achieve.
Hi thanks for watching. Totally agree, it does need to go slightly faster. I’d never used one before and they were my first ever cuts on a table say, I’m getting better with practice 👊🏽
Hi, thank you for watching. Oh wow how come? Still only used mine a handful of times, fingers crossed 🤞🏽 so far so good. I’ve taken the riving knife off a few times too to make groove cuts and again it’s been brilliant.
@@TheCustomCarpenter I was quite happy how the machine performed given how much I paid for it. But it simply burnt the motor twice handy had the 2 year warranty was replaced without issues .. FYI I only used it few times as well.
@@satishsarju6177 how many cuts did you do within a few minutes until it burnt out? Were you doing big sheets, hardwood? Would be interesting to know so that others can avoid burning out the motor.
@@sadiporter2966 not that much to be honest . I was cutting some 18mm marine ply and it go pinched few times and then I was onto 6x2 timber and then same happened blade hot pinched and eventually smoke . Even after that when you press the on button all you hear is current noise but nothing happens . touch.boards.ie/thread/2058060013 have a read here similar links to burnt out motor . Ps my neighbour works for lidl he told me they're know for that fault ..I do have other products made by Parkside and they've lasted well so far
Do a review on a mac allister track saw from b&q mate.. Really cheap but amazing quality.. I bought one just to have it lol.. I use it regular.. In fact I randomly just look for things to cut because its a brilliant toy lol.. Subscribed and liked anyways 👍
Haha brilliant.. I always wanted a dewalt multi tool with all the trimmings lol.. Woke up to one Christmas morning from the wife.. And was working on the house at 7:30 in the morning lol

No doubt that one is slightly better. To be honest it was just by chance I got this one. There I was getting my peppers and milk when all of a sudden this beauty caught my eye. Couldn’t leave without getting it lol.
