After so much listening I believe this is absolutely the best song from Atlas. No doubt.

Ben Gordon goes beast mode the whole song, then completely lets loose at the end. The link up him and Jeff have when it comes to melodic parts/outros/guitar solos is unmatched, vibes are immaculate every time

I just got done listening every single Parkway Drive song from Killing with a Smile to Atlas and i must say, the progression and differentials are amazing. From the first song of Killing with a Smile to the last song of Atlas is unbelievable. How they can integrate beauty and brutality is amazing. The Rapid Brutality of Killing with a smile, the Rhythmic genius of Horizons, the unique sound of Deep Blue, and the beauty of Atlas. it's amazing to see what PWD has evolved into.

This song made me rise when there was no light. Hours and hours and hours on repeat. Absolutely my favorite song from their discography.

Why the fuck I`m crying?

One of the most underrated Parkway Drive songs, in fact this entire album is underrated as fuck, i remember in 2012 when it came out everyone at my school (who liked the band) was disappointed with it and thought it was garbage apart from one or two tracks but it is actually a really good metalcore album.

R.I.P. this Parkway. This album is the end of this band's music in my collection and it really serves its purpose. It feels like the finale.

man i was in australia for about a year and i also stood exactly on that place where this photo was taken. its on the greact ocean road in the south/east of australia. the landscape there is just a thing of beauty. and so is their music

Parkway is literally the ONLY band I have ever seen, where if you go to a RU-vid video of a song of theirs, you NEVER see negative comments.. Further proof of how simply fucking fantastic this band is.. Been listening to em for quite a while now and can easily say they're one of my favorite bands ever.. So unique in what they do, and they just continue to get better!

After all these years of listening to many songs,from many bands,from every genre of metal,I am absolutely sure this is my one true favourite song and it will never be replaced.

Seriously, I can understand why people love this band. Their music is just so amazing and the screams are so powerful. Plus the added trumpets and pianos work perfectly. And I thought that I See Stars' "Digital Renegade" was the best album of 2012 (since all the other albums released on that year sucked), but I was so wrong. Parkway Drive's "Atlas" won my heart for best album of 2012 by far! Keep writing amazing music, you guys! :'D

Edit almost 7 years later: After all those years i'm still thinking this album is in one of the best albums in metal genre overall. And this track is still my fav of PD. I don't know why, but Atlas(album) is so different, like how many albums came out like this? U can listen Architects, even Bring me the Horizon, but there are few bands who reached this "magic", like TOOL for exapmle. Nowdays, most of the new bands are dogshit, playing 00000001000000 with electronic theme, because they cant play it with guitars. It's too hard for them. And ofc im not talking about Architects, they are really good. But yeah, this is the finest album, and in my opinion finest track PD has ever produced.

My interpretation of the lyrics: *Dear sky* *Dear sky don't cry for me, be the hope I could never reach* *Cold sea, please don't let me sink* *Wrap your arms around me and carry me home.* Initially, this man (let's consider he's Winston himself) is sitting on the top of a cliff, overseeing the sea and the sky. He is very sad and depressed with all the pain and suffering he has caused to his loved ones and other fellow persons, and is tormented by this guilt, which is burning him from the inside. He knows, there's no turning back now, that he has to face the consequences for his past doings. Repenting and brooding over won't relieve him. So, wiping away his tears, he cries to nature: "Oh mother, please take me away from here. I am just a burden to you and everyone around me. People suffer because of me, I don't want them to suffer anymore. So please carry me away from here, to a place of complete solitude, to ...*HOME* (pointing towards the sky). *I stood at the shore and spoke to the ocean* *I stood in the water and let my guts spill* *I said "You and me, we're not so different, I see my reflection in all that you do"* Winston, here is talking to his dark side, to the darkness inside him which has made him hollow from the inside. He screamed and screamed, cursing his evil mind which has led him to be the person he is today. The last line *The horizon, my love, forever just out of reach* is a metaphor of his relationship with God (both God and the horizon being infinite), even though he can see Him, he can never be with him. *We both keep our secrets * *We're both, oh so blue* *My heart is full of darkness * *I know that yours is too * *Distance was born when the sea and the sky grew apart* *Loneliness was born the day I let you go * *I let you go* Winston regrets destroying his relationship with his friends and loved ones. Best PWD song ever. And I've been with them since "Dont Close Your Eyes". With Most bands in an album you like a couple songs, then there are the meh songs that you can listen to and then there are a few yoi dislike period. With PWD, every single album is filled top to bottom with great and amazing songs with only a few meh ones here and there that you can still listen to but most definitely not any dis likeable songs. And while I still like and appreciate the growth, maturity, and artistry of IRE and Reverence, Horizons, Deep Blue, and Atlas are their best albums with almost virtually no bad songs. Blue and the Grey is still my all time favorite especially off of Atlas but if I had to pick one from each album it'd be "don't close your eyes" tie between "romance is dead" and "anasassis" "siren's song" and "idols and anchors" "deliver me" which is second overall albums and "karma" this and "dark days" "vice grip" and "into the dark " and "chronos and "shadow boxing". Lastly if I absolutely HAD to choose my favorite album start to finish I'd have to say "deep blue "
