Being an Aussie I have seen PWD 15 times and even from them playing small school gyms back in the day to now packed arenas and heading metal festivals there energy hasn't changed.. 🤘
I only ever saw em twice, circa 2008-09 ish. Both times it was a $5 gig in tiny Christchurch NZ teen gig spots, detour basement and zebedees bar. The second time was a Parkway Drive/I Killed The Prom Queen gig with a few local bands, there were maybe 50 people there. I played a game of pool with Winston that night and had a conversation with all the band members a couple of times through the night. It's crazy seeing how big they are now, they were always idols and legends to us as the older international band that we all loved, but they were also just normal surfer dudes looking for any excuse to travel the world. Cool times. I don't listen to PWD or metal at all so much these days. Into a lot of jazz fusion and prog rock and stuff like Frank Zappa and King Crimson etc. But every now and then I dive in for the nostalgia... Mad chills from this video. Great stuff!
Same here !! I’ve been around parkway drive since the start in 2004 when don’t close your eyes came out… was awesome that they played big venues but also the small town venues also just soo all there fans were happy seen them atleast 20 times partied a few times after gigs with them also haha guys are awesome and chill back 🤘
Parkway are absolute legends, especially in breakdowns. No doubt early Parkway was just next level, but I do still listen to every new song and worst case they always have atleast a couple heaters per album in my opinion! I do deffinatly prefer that old sound, but that is probably because those first few albums have had a huge imprint on what I prefer today. I just played them so much lol.
Thank you sooo much!!! Love to see some Parkway on the channel! All time favourite band. They have changed their sound but man I love them still. I have Reverence on vinyl. Glad you liked them Chels!
I listened to them first last year. Got introduced through another reaction channel to The Void. Now, I am a big fan of the whole discography. And I see how their sound has transitioned and remained the same at heart.
Mat, weird question, are you from Northern idaho area? I feel like i know you from school/mutuals like 10-15 yrs ago. Anyways, love the channel and your guys' vibes.
