Parliament has tasked the telecom and broadcasting sector regulator, the Uganda Communications Communication to investigate remarks attributed to controversial political commentator Charles Rwomushana that some female legislators were behaving like prostitutes. This followed complains to the speaker by some female legislators that Rwomushana’s statements demeaned them as representatives of the people and cast aspersions on the MPs. But, as Herbert Zziwa reports, Rwomushana says he stands by the remarks he made on a television talkshow when he likened the legislators to prostitutes, saying they had sold their conscience for a pittance to the ruling NRM party.
