I missed them in Chicago in the late 70's but caught up with them in ATL at the FOX in '91-92. They played for 3 hours straight. I was 6 rows from the front and I was deaf in one ear when I walked out. ONE OF THE BEST TIMES IN MY LIFE!
I agree. At times in the late 2000s The P would sometimes be very sluggish and tired sounding but this simply kicks mother fucking ass. Michael Hampton is one of the best.
Funkentelechy is one of my favorite P-FUNK songs I like to play on my bass! Lige Curry is really funkin it up on this video clip!!!! His tone is awesome, and he is one of my favorite P-FUNK bass players!!!!!!
Truth, Garry Shider the cosmic sloppin' truth. Fly on, Maggot Brain, fly on...Check out the audience that got to hear this scorchin' version live. The Omniverse is indeed a mystery.
When ever you see a P Funk show it is always different. That is what makes them great. Sometimes they slow it down, sometimes they speed it up. Either way it is always The P Funk. P stands for "pure".
Now thats my favorite band right there. Mike, Byrd, Gary and Boog all together?? Guitar Army!! R.I.P. Belita, Gary, GCIII. Where u get ur funk from??? Ahh!
Now, this, this is THE FUNK!!!!!! Listen to the rolling bass and drums, damn, this is the stuff! "where'd you get that gun from? I need a big pill baby! Do this!!!!
If you can't feel the funk on this joint!? What in the name of daffy duck, did you come here for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ooo, did you hear that!? Lige Curry is raking all over those strings! I don't know where G.C. is, but I did not miss him, the group carried the Funk Nation's banner witht he right attitude!
That growling bass is the "black hole" where funk is found! Lige Curry is taking the funk where it's supposed to be! The whole funk mob, is responsible for the P-funk sound, trust, it was not just George Clinton and Bootsy!
@klatch365 This was the first song of the set. George enters during the performance of "Cosmic Slop" which you can find on my channel as well. Thanks for watching. NanoSongs
@vongirlvnpnk bruh we know all about it. all my friends and i stay jammin to the p funk. actually was in a p funk cover band for a good bit. and we are all under 20
@vongirlvnpnk yea i guess you cold say i grew up around it. i didnt really get heavy into them until i started playing bass. since then they have been my favorite band along with the ohio players. and typically when i make a new friend i always introduce them to the p funk and they instantly fall in love. im about to go see them live for the second time on june 18
#JesusLuciferTheChrist, smh! Michael Kid Funkadelic Hampton better be in the top 20 Guitarist of All Time...Magnificent Solo, plus Gary got em boosted!
@Carla08120812 your not really a true clone! probly not a clone at all for that matter, because if you were then youd know that it was more to it than just george clinton. to be a true clone of the funk you have to appreciate the full contributers of the funk, not just some fame and glory hogger like clinton was. he is nothing without some of these guys he even knows this.
This is a good presentation. But, to a Clone of the Dr. it s like . . . not really THE funk with only a couple of the original funkateers. Good cover, though.
Bullshit. This lineup is as original as it gets; Garry Shider, Boogie Mossoon, Michael Hampton, Baltimore Connection, Clip Payne, Lige Curry, Belita Woods, Steve Boyd, etc
