Whoa.... Hold up.... Plato is using some of the exact same arguments from the Phaedo! That's wild. I'm 20 minutes into this. And I'm hearing ideas being restated not only from Phaedo, but Euthphyro and that discussion with Socrates and Ditoma from Symposium.

No wonder there's so much hype about this dialogue. Makes sense now. I've never studied Parmenides before. But it's like a straight to the point, simplified crash course in Plato. That is super interesting. Cause Plato is usually all over the place. This is simple and easy to understand. Instead having to sift through all of Plato's colorful language.

Do you find the Stephanus numbers valuable? They are in the description.

Damn I'm blown away. I didn't know Plato ever wrote this clearly. 🤣😭😂 This so much easier to understand than his early stuff! Plato's earlier stuff you have to spend 45 minutes on one page to figure out what he's saying.

I agree, this particular translation is Benjamin Jowett. His work is available for free on Project Gutenberg. Let me know if you want me to post a link to the text version of Republic. I might even post it on planksip.org.
