@@ThemeParkWorldwide I went the day after you guys that day I was at the other themepark in Madrid and it was certainly hot. I read that parque Warner gets hotter than Madrid and it got up to 43c on a nearby weather station, very hot indeed.
17:04 Shawn that was so lovely how you checked to see if Charlotte was okay and then put your hand on her leg to comfort her and then she held onto your arm for the rest of the ride. Its great to see you supporting eachother and not panicking, i cant imaging been that hot on a coaster.
Poor Charlotte! Glad she's okay after that, fair play to you guys for sticking it out in the unbareable heat and giving us another amazing vlog to watch! Much love as always!
Thank you so much. Luckily we spent a large amount of time inside the air conditioning between clips, especially after Charlotte passed out. This allowed us to feel better and carry on!
Worth noting with the spike at the end, its purpose isn't to trill, it's to save space. It enables the brake run space to be very tiny and fit into a small space :)
Seeing signs of heat exhaustion on both your faces is genuinely concerning! But I’m glad you guys were ok! The fact that multiple people were passing out on coasters was crazy and honestly park officials should of shut the park or the rides. But I’m glad you guys had a fun experience! Stay cool yall!
Luckily we spent a large amount of time inside the air conditioning between clips, especially after Charlotte passed out. This allowed us to feel better and carry on!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide Thats good I felt that way when i visited Florida when it was 98º plus humidity... Had to go into the shops for a wile after every ride!
The effort you both put into this vlog, despite the heat was amazing. I’m glad Charlotte is ok and that you both got to experience Batman Gotham city escape.
I struggle in the Alton queues when its 25 degrees, can't believe the extreme weather you guys had! Thanks for the vlog as always, glad Charlotte didn't feel too rough after superman ❤
Thank you! Off camera we spent plenty of time in conditioning and chilling out in-between filming and riding! If we didn’t feel better, we wouldn’t have stayed!
You're a star Charlotte for carrying on ( and you Shawn for noticing and caring!) Please take care both of you. We'd rather see you safe and healthy rather than the park!!!!!
Thank you! Off camera we spent plenty of time in conditioning and chilling out in-between filming and riding! If we didn’t feel better, we wouldn’t have stayed!
Oh dear, poor Charlotte, fortunately she recovered and was able to continue her day. I live near the park and in summer you have to be very careful with the heat we have in Spain. Lots of water and look for the shadows. And speaking of shadows, I don't understand why they haven't put awnings or something similar in the outside queues. Puy du Fou in Toledo has understood this and they have kilometres of awnings to provide shade in the waiting areas for the shows. And well, I hope that overall you enjoyed the park and Charlotte didn't get a bad impression of my main park. 😊
I just found your guys' channel on the recent US trip. Charlotte and Sean seem like salt of the earth, good people. That was shown to be true when charlotte went out on Superman and Sean realized and spent the rest of the ride comforting her. You two give me faith that there's still plenty of good people in this world. Hope youre feeling better Sean and Charlotte, ❤❤
Similar story to me with Batman unreliability, the park being like an oven with no shade and bad operations. Made the most of it though and was lucky to get on Batman three times in a row due to a nicely timed breakdown in the station, during which the rest of the queue emptied out. In the end I ended up using their fast pass and although I normally hate these systems, the one here was absolutely brilliant and I managed to marathon so many coasters. Superman was running beautifully for me, one of my favourite floorless coasters. Absolutely incredible to see Charlotte passed out, glad she's OK.
Wow, just wow - the commitment you guys showed to keep going in that heat! 😮We wouldnt have begrudged you leaving a lot earlier than you did! They should have closed that park, it wasnt safe to be operating that day, such a shame as looks like a great place. Am sure youll enjoy it when youre back - in Winter!
While 104 deg F is hot, Madrid doesn't have high dew points or humidity, so it's similar to the desert southwest of the US. I lived out there for a bit and I'll take that over FL summer heat and humidity. But heat really makes things difficult. We hit a record high near my house in Melbourne, FL of 96 last week, but dew point was near 80 giving the feel like of 112.
Today is our 22nd day in a row with a high of 110 or greater, and the last week it's been 115+ Definitely wouldn't mind a feel of 112 when our feel like Temps are 120-122😂😂😂
I cant disagree more this time. The top hat works for me cause you get like a dive coaster in the front and completly ejected out of your seat in the back. Also the spike I consider to be a different way of coming to the breaks. The ride is so complete with so many ejector airtime combine with crazy hang time.
I live in Spain and have done for 21 years, this summer has been absolutely unbearable so far. Perhaps Shawn and Charlotte should revisit and re-ride the new Batman coaster at a different time of year. Maybe the conditions weren't conducive?
Yeah, I loved both of these two elements as well. I like my top hats fast, but I think the pause at the top of this one really builds the anticipation like a dive coaster. The spike for me was a nice surprise and a bit different to a normal brake run.
Omg for the other Americans watching like me I did the translation and 40° c is equal to 104° f 😮🥵!! That's insane. Makes Florida seem cool!! Also I always notice the people that wear black shirts on these days in the parks and I don't understand what they are thinking? Like that just draws the sun to you! 😅
Fair play to the 2 of you for sticking it out....think I'd have past out or been sick with that heat and queuing! One train ops and lack of communication doesn't help at all!
Luckily we spent a large amount of time inside the air conditioning between clips, especially after Charlotte passed out. This allowed us to feel better and carry on!
Omg what a pair of troopers you both really thank you so much to you both for carrying on and bringing us all the great footage you both always do and so glad Charlotte is ok xxx
Last year we had 40 in the uk and the alerts were don’t leave your house if you don’t have too - obviously then you shouldn’t be walking round theme parks riding rides, just because it’s another country the rules don’t change: that’s serious heat and got to look after yourself in those conditions.
@@ThemeParkWorldwide of course the trip makes you want to not miss out etc and unfortunate on the timing and the heatwave but health is wealth! glad your both alright - love rides but couldn't imagine passing out on one.
Hi shawn and Charlotte Oh my goodness poor Charlotte 😢. Shawn I thought it was so lovely you put your hand on her leg to let her know your there . I really hope she is OK please both of you take care out there in this heat . Or any where in the world you May be 🌍. The park looked really good loved the new Coaster. Reminds me of Velocicoaster. Well done to you for making the whole day . Thankyou for sharing your adventures with us. Love to you both as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
In July and August, the heat that we have in Spain is unbearable, even for those of us who live there, and the heat of Madrid, not having the coast next to it, makes it very dry. I hope you had a great time during your stay in my country, regards. 😁👍
Wow I’m surprised they’re having issues at only 41 degrees Celsius. I live in Dallas and Six Flags Over Texas has had multiple weeks in a row at that temp or hotter and I haven’t seen any operating issues due to the heat! Other than that this park looks like a must do now!!
Well done for battling the high temps but your health comes first I appreciate you taking your fans virtually on your trips but in that heat take care of yourselves keep yourselves hydrated also I really hope Charlotte is OK after her passing out on superman
When you mention about the spike at the end, due to the limit amount of space that park to work with, it was necessary to add a spike at the end as an extended break run.
Hey Charlotte and Shawn, it was really nice to meet you on Wednesday, thanks for chatting and giving your opinion on Gotham City Escape. We waited 3 hours for the ride when it finally opened on Wednesday evening, we were quite a bit behind you guys in the queue. Thursday was a total shambles too, the ride opened at 1pm or so, we were in the airgates for the back row for maybe the 4th or 5th train, when the train coming in was stuck on the turntable, technical staff were under the track for ages and had to bring the train forward manually to allow riders off. We waited 30 minutes in the airgates then the queue was closed and we got a fastpass, disappointed to get booted out. 😅 The ride was on and off all day, though at least it did get started earlier than the day before. No pre-show, the house lights were all on in the batcave and there was no audio on the trains, so it took from the overall experience a bit. We got back later for 2 more rides at least, the second time we waited at least an hour. The heat was such a factor, but besides that the operations were shocking at times and some of the staff were not very nice at all. Regardless, we loved the coaster. Its a superb ride and a great investment for the park, though I do get your point about the over-trim on the top hat and the spike is a bit of a lame duck, especiallyat the rear ofcthe train. Still, it was so worth the trip and suffering that immense heat. Toutatis next on the list hopefully. 🎉 PS Charlotte, seeing you faint on Superman was awful, hope you didn't feel any ill effects afterwards.
i really think the only people who care about being trimmed on the top hat are coaster enthusiasts. so it really doesn’t make sense to cater to 0.001% of their customers. the gp absolutely freak out when they are being hung over a drop. which is why dive coasters are so popular
Thanks for the tour again S/C. Batman Escape... Interesting. I'm just wondering if there isn't a different experiment; story line timed with a mega coaster. What if was a dark ride? Maybe looks like should be a killer, but has a theme(?) Don't know, I like the Big Thunder Mountain storyline coasters, but don't wish had an inversion and went faster or another, for example maybe. Thx
I live in California been camping in Death Valley during summer. Gone to Las Vegas during summer. You need to take care of yourself with hot weather. If you don't feel good go inside and push water. Heat stroke is not a joke. Be safe
Loved this! ❤❤ Thankyou so much both of you for keeping going in that heat! Especially Charlotte after passing out! Loved the aqua man night time show 🎢 xx
Great vlog, amazing how you kept doing what you love and filming a vlog not matter how how hot it shows how dedicated you are and as fans we would like to thank you for that. I hope you both had a nice chilled second day at the park off camera
Phew, what an experience you had... I can't imagine the feeling. I visited Europa Park in 39 degrees C back in 2019, and that was unbearable for me. I can relate to the hairdryer argument - when we went around on Wodan, it felt like we were being fanned in a sauna😂
That’s my idea of hell queueing for rides in that heat. You both look absolutely shattered at the end. Think you need a non coaster relaxing holiday! Somewhere cool!
Where were you guys last summer when we had 40 plus degrees here in The UK? And with humidity. I'm so glad we haven't yet got any of that Europe heatwave here. I've experienced 48 degrees in Dubai but that's a dry heat and you have the pool or sea to jump into 😂 Crazy footage from Superman. That park should have closed. I did hear of another park closing but can't remember which one. Felt for Charlotte though. 😢 Look after yourselves first❤ Feel sorry for the staff. I've had to work in extreme heat and it's difficult to function properly.
The start of the video looks exactly how the entrance to Universal Studios Florida used to look like in the 1990s as I remember it. (Not sure if it still does after they built Isles Of Adventure).
Poor Charlotte on superman! You mention ‘safety / health is paramount’ but the insistent ‘keep on riding’ caused Charlotte to faint and have possible heat stroke?! You both should have went back to the hotel.
Luckily we spent a large amount of time inside the air conditioning between clips, especially after Charlotte passed out. This allowed us to feel better and carry on!
I was surprised on your opinion about how slow the top hat is because I never got that feeling, but looking at your POV I realized that the top hat USED to be soooo slow. If you see any more recent POV you can see that the top hat is now quite faster, and does not ruin the pace so much (in fact I think it adds to the experience). They removed the first break fin to keep it from stalling on the top hat, which happened once short after they opened. I also agree I don't like the ending with the spike. But I'm one of the few people who think this is much better ride than Velocicoaster. Regards!
Heat and one train ops actually can coincide as equipment as brakes are even more heated up by the amount of trains passing. Not saying that this is why they are running one train, but it could indeed be a reason.
Was there last week at 37°C . Luckily all coasters were open though. We gave Superman the nickname airfryer coaster as the air was so dam hot. We decided to pay the €30 upcharge for the waterpark just to dip in the water and take a nap on a beachbed in the shade for an hour. Felt recharged after that and luckily the temperature had dropped in the evening. Was able to ride Stunt Fall and Batman again after that. Really happy I decided to ride Stunt Fall in the end cause I was hesitant with the heat and the bad older Vekoma rep but that coaster is so awesome!
It's actually really quite significantly dangerous that both Charlotte and so many people passed out on the ride. Not only does passing out on a ride make yourself susceptible to head and limb injuries (due to lost motor control), but it's possible to develop brain injuries due to deoxygenation of neural tissue or a blow to the head. I'm so surprised they kept the ride open given how many you report having passed out, whether to do with the heat or individual susceptibility to fainting or blood pressure drops. If anyone else you are with passes out on a ride, try to protect their head and definitely get seen afterwards.
I had a similar experience at six flags over Texas a few weeks ago. It was blazing 40°C+ and I felt like passing out on some of the rides, especially on Titan. It was absolutely unbearable. The larson loop was physically hot to the touch, I had red burn marks on my legs from where I was sat after I got off. The worst part however: shockwave broke down whilst we were sat on the brake run. So we had to sit in the heat for 30 minutes until we were evacuated. At least all the rides were walk on the whole day tho.
I am Spanish and it is a luxury to be able to have this coaster in Spain, I am glad that you liked it and if you return to Spain you will have to repeat it more times;)
Were going in a few days time and just wondering about the locker situation. Were going to have a small backpack with us, is there lockers at the rides or do they ask you to leave them at the sides ? Obviously cant take a backpack on most of they coasters 🤣 .Love the video ! So great to see round the park, it will be our 1st time ! ❤
Hope Charlotte is ok after her passing out on that roller coaster ride. I was watching and couldn’t believe at first it was her who had fainted quite alarming. Anyway the heat certainly looked formidable out there now wonder you both struggled to walk about it even vlog. Batman Gotham City Escaped certainly looks an exhilarating ride and one to make a note off. Excellent vlog TPW crew😉👍
Oh man! You poor guys…40 degrees is a full on temperature to be out and about it. I’m Australian and kind of used to high temps but even I couldn’t do a theme park at 40 degrees. I feel for Charlotte on that super man coaster. Just want to say that I love your content on both channels and I admire your passion and willingness to keep going during those extreme weather conditions 😊
How much was the recording? Hopefully, you feel better Charlotte. And as for you Shawn, that was so lovely how you comforted her for the rest of the ride after she passed out.
Omg I was so worried about you both in that heat I love the summer but could not have handled that and when Charlotte blacked out my mothering instincts kicked in I'm just glad you are both OK I don't know how you kept going the lake show looked amazing by the way see you both soon enjoy the rest of your time there xx
Poor Charlotte. You're saying about the heat but come on man you had her running in it at the start just to get further up a que. That's not helping anyone. I know the channel needs the footage but it's not a great look.
That's just wrong, after the pass out in them conditions Shaun should have made the decision to leave it till another day. He didn't and wanted more footage. I think everyone would have agreed if the vlog ended after Charlotte passed out and you said for health reasons due to the conditions you were leaving.
Note : stay clear of the Mediterranean in July & August ! I'm surprised that you even considered it. . April/May or Sept/Oct is the best time. Temperatures are always measured in the shade to give an air temperature. You can add another 3 degrees in the sun.
I was so worried about poor Charlotte on the Superman coaster. Was she checked over to make sure it wasn't heat stroke? I seriously feel you should have ended the vlog and taken her back to the hotel. I'm just relieved you're back home and out of the heat. Sometimes it is best to be sensible and not push things too much in adverse conditions. Just bit of advice x
I believe the 'anticipation stall' (as Intamin calls it) trimming at the top has a technical reason. And a budgetary one? That's why Velocicoaster doesn't have it, because Universal chose to spend more money.
Now that Parque Warner has had a major investment, Parque de Atracciones needs a ride to really round out the top 3 (Abismo is a one trick pony, Tornado is decent, then Tarantula would be 3rd). Weather this is a new signature coaster or something that could swapped out for Tarantula on the top in-park list depending on one's preferred forces like a Straddle Coaster (be that Zamperla, Vekoma, or Intamin) to give the park a launch
Agreed, the park needs something major now. We visited on Monday, the heat made it tough going but despite that, I felt that the park hadn't much to offer in the coaster lineup. Nothing was very re-rideable. Abysmo was enjoyable, if it had been less unbearable queueing in the heat we would have had a few more rides. I found Tarantula to be so painful, especially that ridiculous jerk on the brake run. No need for that at all. 🙄 So painful when you're already dizzy and headachey from the ride and the intense heat.
