I wanted a caique! My avian vet told me my next bird should be that because they are cuddly. My two bonded budgies I adopted keep me on my toes. I will probably need replenish their shreddable toys soon will purchase from Parrot Playhouse.
Wow, Puffy can take out so unexpectedly, that you have to be very careful for your eyes. He have a lot of energy. But he sure is fun, he is a real clown.❤😅😊
Well this sort of thing is bound happen when you these many birds or parrots they All want the attention and a bit of our time to play or look into what we do in our daily life AND Be a part of it like for e.g. I have a Alexandrian female parrot,6 years old now,has been with us since she was about she was 2 weeks old and is quite very much like your puffman and Baby,she likes to mess around a bit or to put it simple When she wants something she'll make noises like coughing or whistle or simply call us by our names to tell us what she wants or she will start banging her cage with her utensils or when she is outside of her cage she'll start throwing water glasses or spectacles 👓 or something related off the table. But when you have those many beautiful birds they all want a piece of you. They want play,cuddle or eat with you together sometimes share playtime along with other birds with you and when you don't they will do things like biting you or hurting because they think you don't like them or leave them or stuff but deep down all they want is your affection your appreciation and praises for the things they do, good things like a new trick or word they learned they want you to listen to. It's all about what you do about that. How you make time for all of them. For my little one she is also no different than them in behavior. Sometimes they want to be naughty or mischievous but not so much like biting or scratching you for no reason. She once bit my Mom while playing it was quite bad. She felt so horrible for doing that she wouldn't eat or come out of her closet(Yes she sleeps in my mother's closet. We leave the door of the closet open at a certain angle so she can go in and out anytime and she won't sleep anywhere else. It's like its her own little bedroom with a lil blanket) until my Mom got her to come and explain it to her it's not her fault make her understand herself better then feed her. Meaning of it all is teach them the doos & don't make them television my Blu loves watching some classic Tom&Jerry and Looney tunes and some other children's shows.
I have a white bellied caique. He's 11years old. He's only bit me once real bad on my finger. He's the love of my life. But they can be little monsters. Take care. Hope your eye is getting better!
Omg, April, are you okay??? I've got bitten badly by my birds (ages ago), but never like that. I knew that some parrots can break finger bones, though, so I was always wary of all those beaks :D Outch.

OMG! Yes yes yes!! Puff man is so LUCKY that u understand and respect him. He really beat you up! While I only have one quite easy rescue, it’s so EASY for me to deal with any “issues” of hers. I can’t imagine the daily chaos that u have committed yourself to SELFLESSLY to care for these crazy AMAZING creatures. On behalf of all of us emulating the importance of rescue, I have to say that REAL LIFE, HONEST education is the ONLY truly effective way to help our parrot crisis. In the life of a rescue parrot, it’s SO critically stressful and often far more damaging to a poor parrot when we’ll meaning, UNINFORMED people try to adopt one, then send away because the parrot was being a parrot. They are just not for a lot of people, they are high maintenance when kept in captivity, plain and simple, as they HAVE to be, for their mental health to be thought of by we humans. It’s IMPERATIVE that those choosing to care for ANY wild animal, that they understand, and mindfully RESPECT them as such. It’s the only way for any kind of long term enjoyment and benefits of being owned by a parrot, rescue or not. THANK YOU for taking one, (ok, a FEW), hits for the team! I have a little stinker BH caique too! I'm lucky that he's a sweet one... towards me anyway. He doesn't like other people so much. He's over protective of me & none if the family can safely enter his & my bedroom where his cage is. He doesn't like my African Grey & attacked him once, (thank god there were no injuries), so they have to be in separate rooms, but they are still within sight of each other which my caique doent mind. Oh well, that's life with parrots!💝
I have a question. Im building a realistic profile for a caique. From what I have gathered so far is that most videos on caique being playful and hand wrestling are under 3 years of age or not sexually mature yet? If so, when they become sexually mature or 3 yrs and older I take it hand wrestling is something you can no longer do because of the saying touching a bird below the neck is seen as a sexual favor? If so I will not consider a caique if this is the case. I have owned many parrots in the past and I have a pair of lovebird atm. Im happy with lovebird but am looking for a medium sized bird similar to lovebird in body shape. I might have to wait and save up for a bronzewing or blue head pionus. Let me know your thoughts. I want a full rounded realistic picture of a daily life with this parrot.
I'm lucky so far that my caique dosen't attack me, but he doesn't extend that courtesy to my family members who come into my/his bedroom where he flies freely. I also can't trust him to be civil with my African grey. He can't be in the same room & be free to fly around when other uncaged parrots are in the room, he'll attack them. I have a lightweight metal-chain attached to a ringlet on his ankle that I attach to myself for when we are mixing with all others in the house (or when we go outside) to keep everyone else in the rest of the house safe from him. I tried harnesses & other leashes, but he knows he can chew through them, but he leaves the metal leash & anklet alone. He doesn't even try to attack anyone while he's on his leash, thank goodness for that! Best of luck with your babies! :●}
Caiques can be super aggressive and I know it can be a challenge to keep the other flock members safe! The problem with chains is if a bird spooks their tiny leg can be badly injured, dislocated, or broken. I know a bird it happened to. The owner was just trying to do his best to keep the others safe. Screaming just encourages the behavior but I am an imperfect human and I make mistakes. Chucky catches me off guard sometimes and his bites hurt!🤷🏼♀️😂

Who pressed attack mode?? 🕊❓🖲 🐓 Oh, dear, it's HORMONAL SEASON!! 🌶 Congratulations! You found the nest! 🥚 P.s.¹ the nest was just a regular corner not even hidden at all. P.s.² the bird was a cockatiel which I believed to be a male but soon delivered 3 eggs after obsessing over this "nest"
Is there anyway I can get ahold of you? I have a goffin cockatoo that might need a new home. I'm not sure if you know anyone who can take her but you're the only person I know who might have connections. My baby is scared of her and my other cockatoo is extremely jealous of her. We rescued her a few days ago but it's not looking well.
@@ParrotPlayhouseChannel I will try to spread parrot awareness in India. Conditions here are very worse😔. People catch wild parrots and sell them openly in spite of the fact that it is illegal in India and there are no veterinary service or even big cages at affordable prices.
As difficult as it is you should try NOT to scream or make noise when a bird does something undesirable. For a bird that signals excitement! They are thinking oh! If I do this I can make them squeal 😂. It reinforces the behavior instead of decreasing it. NOT giving them attention for the behavior is more effective. Happy parroting 🦜🐦
