I'd like to add that 15 yrs ago I've been diagnosed with oral cancer and given literally no hope. I've looked up the recent studies on natural treatments and found study from University of Bombay and there they had 80% success rate with green tea extract on oral cancer. I've applied the required dosage (4g/day) and was cancer free in less than 4 months. If I knew about apigenin it would've been probably much faster!

In middle East fresh parsley is a common food eaten every day. It's mix with onion, mint, tomato, fine burgul (wheat,) olive oil & lemon. it's called Taboli. your father even mentioned it. it's a meal by itself.

I'm nuts about tabouleh, as we call it here. I'm just a bit too lazy (kitchen not adequate either) to do much proper meal preparation: live on soups and easy salads wherever possible.

It's a bit inelegant, but a very good investment is a little lightweight step to keep by the loo bowl. Using this to put our feet on "when we go" brings our body closer to a "natural squatting position", as is still used by rural people in Asia and Eurasia. This position is the optimum one for a complete (as opposed to partial) bowel movement. Bowel cancer is almost unheard of in such parts of the world.

I grow my own herbs, including parsley, which grows fast enough to yield a harvest every few days from a single pot grown indoors all year around. I wash and lay the parsley out on a perforated tray over an air vent to dry it for several days. After that, I pull the leaves from the stems and grind them into flakes, then I store that in the freezer. I use it, ground flaxseed, turmeric root and powdered leaves, ground cumin and coriander seeds to make roti (flatbread). It's a simple way to make phytonutrients a part of my daily diet. Food is medicine. Eat foods rich in bioactive compounds and you may never need to see a doctor.

Have the benefits of parsley been hidden by the drug industry? I started eating raw fresh parsley years ago when most people threw away the garnish. One warning is that if you grow your own you should plant at least twice what you think you will need because you may have to share with the butterflies. It is a food for black swallowtail butterfly larvae. We do not seem to eat enough beneficial herbs and spices.

What I find each time is I also get confirmation /affirmation of the benefits of my current eating regimen. For instance, I have always wondered about the cancer thwrarting benefits of adding fresh parsley to my soups & salads. I have grown both types in my garden. The flavor bite it has seemed to indicate strong, unique compounds, with a diverse, rich anti-oxidant profile. Not long ago, I added Apigenin supplements for it's sleep benefits. Great segment, as always !

I'm amazed, at 83, that not that many people, even today, know how important food is, and most of all,, herbs. I don't take any prescribed drugs, I never get sick, not even with Covid 19 in my house x4 times. I only found out maybe 3 years ago that herbs contain many times the amounts of vitamins and minerals and all nutrients that other foods contain, and I would even guess that besides our choices of proteins which vary so much, if we only otherwise ate herbs we would be so much healthier.
