Hi Thank you very much for your film shot on a cold day and for your time. I have the same engine with the difference that it has a starter and is controlled by a remote control on the side of the boat. Steel not used since my dad's death, that is for 12 years. And I'm having trouble starting it. There is a spark, the starter is turning, the water pump is working, but it does not want to ignite, I will add that it was stored in a garage where the temperature was always above zero. Please tell me how the fuel pump should behave if you can and what else I can check, I disassembled the carburetor but I didn't know about this one jet which is inside. Any suggestion will be worth its weight in gold :) Once again, thank you very much and greetings from Poland Rafal :)

Hi Rafal, Thanks for asking, so assuming the battery is fully charged and cranking the engine over correctly. Just make sure that the battery cables are the right way round + on +, - on - , not sure if the engine would even spin over if this was wrong but I’ve had an engine which span the wrong way before, and wouldn’t start. Make sure you have fresh fuel with the correct oil mix unless the engine has an oil tank then just make sure you have fresh fuel. A quick test which I sometimes use to see if its an ignition fault or carb fault is to spray some carb cleaner or other spirit into the throat of the carb. If when you crank the engine, it splutters then dies then it’s a sure thing it’s the carb at fault as the engine is only starting on what fluid you’ve just sprayed in. If you still have nothing after trying this then it could be an ignition fault, but like you say you have got spark which should rule this out. If you have a way testing cylinder compression, I would try this to check you haven’t got a broken ring or anything. Anything over 100psi would be fine. As for the fuel pump mounted onto the carburettor, the pump is a diaphragm pump and a replacement gasket set can be purchased using this part number 369-87122-1. Without seeing the engine first hand, I can’t give you a full diagnosis, but it sounds to me like the carburettor could be at fault if its been sitting for so long. I would fully strip it down again and have it cleaned using an ultra-sonic tank then rebuilt using new gaskets making sure all the passageways are clear and that the main jet and nozzle are clear, these have very small holes on them to help meter and atomise fuel. Its also possible that the float needle is sticking and not allowing fuel into the bowl. When cleaning the jet or nozzle, don't go mad ramming anything into it as its made of brass and can be damaged. Hope this helps you.

@@MarineEngineServicing Hi thank you very much for replying. I cleaned and blew the whole carborator, the fuel is coming in the carburetor cup I checked. the engine spins from the starter, the spark is also there, I unscrewed the sparplug and they look wet, of course they are new. Fuel is fresh fuel filter new. Tomorrow I will buy a spray starter, something like you used. Compression is also ok. I've turned it so many times that the water in the barrel is dirty with oil. It's the exact same engine as yours except it has a starter motor and controls in the boat. I will record a video tomorrow and send it to you if u do not mind. Something may catch your eye. Again, thank you very much for your help and advice. Regards, Rafal :)

In the area of Poland where I live, there is no one to help me because there are no lakes here, there are no services for such engines. And that's why I searched the Internet and found your video with exactly the same engine and a thorough professional explanation, that's why I wrote asking for help and thank you very much for wanting to help me.

Greetings my dear friend.. There is a 50 hp thatsu engine. 3 injectors are intact, the brain is intact, the fuel pump is working... but I think there is no fuel reaching the pistons. It works when I spray brake lining spray inside. I am a mechanical technician myself. Apart from the 3 injectors of the engine, there are also injectors inside the compartment called the log, I think they adjust the air and gasoline mixture. Could it be one of these? What is your advice? I wish you a good day... From Tuzla, Istanbul Greetings... Gasoline reaches the injectors. In addition to the fuel pump, there is also a pressure box that pushes the fuel forward.

Is this fuel injection or triple carburettor?
