Hi, suggestion, mount the pump/motor on separate engine mounts to minimise noise and vibration and torsional twists from the truck chassis + pump plumbing

I wonder if you could remote mount the radiator up high as well. That would avoid the chaff problem altogether. Add some extra hose and an electric fan and call it good.

Yer its an idea we have though of, not sure how we would go about it though as if we put it to far away the water will struggle to pump the distance

@@tomsbrookfarm There shouldn't be any issues with changes in height as the system is filled to the top so the pump only has to overcome the friction in the pipes, there is no static head to overcome. You could increase the pipe a few sizes and that will significantly reduce the friction losses. The other option would be to run a pipe along inside the bottom of the water tank, reject the heat into the fire water and do away with the radiator altogether, but that sounds like a lot of alloy welding and I am not sure the juice is worth the squeeze.

Halfway through the video to make one note. It surely works nice to have Fleetwood start so easily compared to some other projects and/or other vehicles in the process of modifications. In looking at Fleetwood's fittings on the side. I would assume that you have 3 separate tanks inside the main shell?? Do you go inside the tank and open access holes to make it one big tank without everything sloshing around inside?? Probably something like 4 or more 3" holes from tank to tank that will facilitate filling the whole tank and being able to use the entire tank as one big reservoir. Good work so far!!

Yer I forgot to mention it but we are going to jump in to the middle tank and cut holes between the two tanks so that they are all connected and we keep the baffles to reduce the slosh effect

Are you putting a foam tank in, and foam inductor. What about a front remote controlled nozzle?

Im assuming the army left it as 3 separate compartments and fuel spec? If so, don't forget to cut the walls to join them as one. Also, the air operated foot valves will need to be bypassed.

Yer i completely forgot to mention it but we are planning to cut holes in the tanks walls to join each tank

Yer its something I hoped that the mechanics would of sorted when it was in for the pits inspection. But to be honest they could be bothered with it all and now we have a leak somewhere. At least with an air compressor on there it will always be full and ready to go when ever we need it!

Being a x fuel tanker, where you not worried about blowing everything to shit 🧨

Not at all, the truck wouldn't of had fuel in it for at least 10 years at a guess. So no need for us to worry about it.

They do have the water tankers available but I didnt go to them for 2 reasons. They are a lot and I mean a lot more expensive!!! And the second is that there was going to be no room for a crew deck as the tanks are bigger ($14 000L)
