Hey Laura! When you want to know the level of content inside an opaque bottle, you can put it in the freezer for a little bit and check the condensation once you bring it back to room temperature ;)
Oh my gosh 😍 that kitty is BEEEEAUTIFUL ...Now lets see the declutter clutter lol ❤ you're doing a wonderful job but I know your struggle is real 🫣keep sparkling ✨️ ✨️✨️✨️
Ask yourself this when decluttering; Do I wear this? If so how often? Does this make me happy? Don’t keep what you are not using and what doesn’t make you happy. For instance I love Dior Addict and Lancôme Poeme but they have to go because I wear them maybe 5-10 times a year. This is just not practical. Only keep what you love. I have an easy time decluttering although I do have declutter regrets and repurchases. So take your time to think about it. Sometimes it becomes overwhelming and you just want to declutter it take your time to think about it as if it was a life altering decision lol. ❤
I'm even worse about keeping boxes, and I rarely sell. I just like to have them because the product seems more complete somehow. Many boxes are really beautiful too, like your hair mist. I also save all my makeup boxes until I'm done with the product because I like to be able to look at the ingredients later or re-read the claims, etc. Even if I give something away slightly used I like the box to go with.
Keeping boxes makes sense for resale and some perfumes have the packing or dating code on the package although most carry it on the bottle itself these days. I’m currently at 15 perfumes and 56 body sprays. My ideal collection would be 20 - 26 perfumes/oils/edts and 26 matching / similar body sprays. It could be less in the future but I just got into fragrance this year so I still have a lot to explore. Have more than enough body sprays, time to pare those down soon once I get my nose on all the fall and winter scents. Things I’m looking to add perfume wise would be Fame, a Libre, No. 5 L’Eau and something that smells like almonds and something that smells like violets. It’s always between 70-90 degrees F here so nothing crazy heavy. Thank you for sharing your journey! I love putting you on when I need to do chores around the house. Feels like girl chat time. Big hug!
I keep only full-size bottles of fragrances i absolutely love, and wear in different seasons. I have about 100, and i am planning to declutter some that Im not in love with anymore
My utilitarian and collector side continue to battle it out. I do love perfumery as an art, so it is hard to part with history in a bottle, prototypes of a genre, a masterpiece, even when it’s not to my personal tastes. Part of me wants to hang on to it for my “reference library” with full presentation. The other part feels it a waste if I don’t wear it, because that’s where my greatest joy in perfumery comes from. The perfectionist and individualist in me wants the “perfect”, personalized wardrobe. Yeah, it’s hard.
I de cluttered about 6 months ago. I have a friend who doesn’t like perfume but her daughter does. I knew I needed to get rid of about 20 bottles that I wasn’t reaching for. I’m on a no buy for the month of August as well. I have 50 bottles and most of them are almost full. I started doing a perfume tray a month to get some wear out of some that I just don’t wear. I love them all❤️
Yes, perfume trays are great, I do weekly instead of monthly. I'm about 40 to 50, I want to buy about 5 more and I'm done, also going to sell what I don't use, I've sold 2 perfumes and 2 purses so far
Thanks for sharing your latest thoughts on you collection Laura. If you don't love them anymore and don't think you will wear them, it makes sense to let them go. Still looking forward to hearing you talk about your trip with Sebastian. Take care! 😊🌸💛
Decluttering perfume is hard for me, too. I always worry I will regret letting one go, particularly if they are discontinued bc I know I am saying goodbye forever. I recently sold maybe 25 bottles and have another 25 I’m ready to let go, but I’m sure there are more I should add to that list. One step at a time, right? ❤
I save my boxes. I resell perfumes I'm not using on Mercari and I like to include the box. I also use them to store the perfumes that I put away when seasons change. Thank you for doing the giveaway!
I may be in the minority here but my boxes barely make it through the door - straight in the recycling I’m afraid 😅 Keeping my fingers crossed for the giveaway - I have a small perfume collection of 5 bottles which I adore, but I’ve been thinking of adding ‘My Way’ to it recently 😊
I know what you are going through me to addicted to purses gold jewelry perfume 💕 everything but I don't need anything more no Idea what to do with it all no room in my apartment I know what you are going through me to 😢 good night 🌉 I'm a new subscriber 💕💕 stay strong.
An idea: maybe it is a better thing to keep 20 ml from each bottle and sell the rest??? So, you will have time to use it and also keep for a period all the sences
Maybe you could put aside all the fragrances that are definitely keepers. Then put out the fragrances you are not sure about decluttering and force yourself to wear them. What you are not wearing often sell off. Idk. It’s hard once you have so many because you don’t have time to wear them all which makes it harder to decide.
Sometimes I think, if I die today will I be happy with the fragrance I am wearing? Sounds extreme and emo but really, if this was the last fragrance I got to wear would I be ok with that? Would I want people to remember me by this fragrance? 😂
Moving in a month sure helps 🤣 I've sold at least 15 fragrances. Brought away 4 bags of clothes. Got rid of 4 pairs of shoes. Using up all my half empty body cair.. Reevaluating if you realy want to bring something into a new house makes it easyer ☺️
