Nice! I found one on offerup for $650 with two 7.5ah batteries, I asked if he would take $500 and he said yes! He actually had two so I ended up buying both. I took the 4 7.5’s and I have an extra 7.5 and 5.0. They’re great! Selling the extra one I have as the tool only, use my goal zero yeti 1000 to charge the batteries, little hack to make it “solar powered”
I bought 2 of these with the 2ea 7.5 AH batteries plus 4 extra 7.5’s from Home Depot. So have a total of 60AH and 4000w continuous (6KW peak) plus basically a backup system for next to nothing compared with just the price of the batteries. I use these for nighttime and alternate my 3 Honda Generators during the 16 hours I’m out and about and also recharge all the batteries. I can use a Jackery 500w and Solar Cells to charge the Egos if I ever run out of gas.
You are all wrong Jim. if you have 7.5 amp battery running at 56 volts. it produces 7.5 amp x 56 v = 420 watts. Since you have 6 of them, you have only 2520 W. You don't have 4000W. It is not worth to pay $350 per battery to get 420 watts. They are overpriced. Ego company is very deceiving! Just like may other products coming from oversea. If you truly needs high energy, products like Titan, or Yeti has true 2000w battery pack. which has 100 amp x 24 volts = 2400 watts. particularly Titan battery can be stacked up to double or triple those depending on your needs. They are American companies and you can get 2000watts at the half the price of what you paid.
For Lithium-Ion, if you fast-charge them, then that causes a lot more wear and tear on the battery. Slow charging is much better for the long-term health of the battery, but you should be able to charge multiple batteries simultaneously.
This unit does charge all batteries slowly, 1 at a time then let's the others cool. They also have slow chargers that charge 2 batteries. The arc Lithium technology and keep cool technology does a great job keeping the battery cool.
@@TechMadeEzy - Yeah, but I wish they had at least a parallel charging option, if not fast charging. It’s a pain in the ass to do slow charging one-at-a-time.
@@TechMadeEzy - either that, or multiples of the dual-channel slower chargers. It would be nice if the power inverter unit could at least function the same way as those.
i got one Because I'm already in the Ego systemI have most of the lawn tools I would not have bought this just for power station. can you hook up a gas generator directly to the Power staton to charge the batteries
Nice video. I was watching one on eBay and just happened to check Home Depot. Picked one up for the same price as you. Felt bad for the eBay buyer as they paid well over that price plus shipping.
So even though the model comes With 45 amp hour batteries, it can still use 7 1/2 amp hour batteries if you purchase them separately? Great video by the way thank you so much!
I agree I love pass-through charging, let's hope a new version comes out with that feature that would be awesome thanks for sharing Steve and thanks for watching happy holidays
Hi Paul, thank you so much. I do have a blower vac I got from worx that I'm planning on reviewing, what else are you looking at that you'd like to see?
Hey nice videos , I have been thinking about buying one of those power stations , have you tried hooking up a solar panel , and have you been using for other tests , I'd be curious to know if you are still having good results with it , I have been reading about this power station in other reviews, and some have had rather bad experiences with it , ex burning out other electronic devices 🤷♂️ thanks in advance 👍
Thanks Brian, I don't have much experience with solar it's actually on my mind I want to learn more about. I've used the power station a few times and had it for at this point about 8 months. Haven't had any issues and for me it's really a device that hopefully will protect me when the time comes. I do also have a gas generator as a backup as well.
@@TechMadeEzy thanks for update , I am in the process of deciding if I want or need either the power station , or a smaller generator , it would be generally for short power outages , I like the idea of having just a battery backup system , well not for the whole house , but just to support the essentials , fridge microwave and a few other things , I already have a few Ego batteries , I'm about to pull the trigger on the two stage snow blower 🙄😐
Hi Seunghoon, That green button I guess you are talking about ? That pops the clear green cover open that covers the outlets when they aren’t being used
Hi Jillian Amazon has a great price on the tool by itself for $499 as long as you have batteries link amzn.to/34AGkvN if not it’s $1299 with 4 x 5ah batteries but it will be back in stock in a month from what I see , here is a link to ace hardware this is $999 and includes 2 x 7.5ah batteries www.acehardware.com/departments/automotive-rv-and-marine/automotive-lighting-and-electrical/electric-inverters/3001052
The generator is showing hours can run, that's falsely display misleading consumers. 56V x 7.5AH =420 watts. If you have 4 x7.5AH max total 1680 watts. If you plug a 1500 watts heater, then only last 1.5 hour max. According on the display 61 hours run on 2000 watts, meaning the batteries must have 12,000 watts. Hope this can helpful.
That thing is cool!!! I can think of so many different times I could use this. When my Kobalt 80V Max batteries die or my mower and accessories do I may have to switch to EGO!
@@TechMadeEzy just a little 2-cycle gas one called a tailgator I got at Harbor Freight for tailgating, car shows, picnics, etc. The battery would be so much nicer. Quiet, no gas or oil, no smelly fumes. The EGO seems like a great alternative to gas.
it’s amazing, I’m doing a demonstration video in a few days, make sure you check that one out, I’ll be connecting multiple devices and appliances to see how it handles
Ego company is very deceiving just like many other products from oversea. This machine doesn't have 2000watts continuous or 3000 watts peak power. Do some math. if one battery has 7.5 amp at 56 volts, it gives only 7.5 x 56 = 420 watts power. If you combine 4 of them 420 x 4 = 1680 watts total. That is the maximum energy that battery has. But lithium iron battery usually runs at 80 % efficiency so actually it can only give you 1680 x 0.8 = 1344 watts. Beyond that will shorten lifespan or damage the battery. Do not believe the numbers you see on those screen, because those can be manipulated by software. Rather you should rely on the law of physics and mathematics. Each battery of Ego 7.5 amp is $350. It's not cheap. In order to have 2000W, you need to buy 5 of them $350 x 5 = $1750. When I last checked, Titan solar generator 3000W was $2995 and 2000w battery was $1395 which runs at 74 amp x 29 volts = 2146 watts. And this is an American company and at least honest about their product.
Cool, what line of power equipment does the Titan solar generator run? I doubt anyone is purchasing this just because of this. Most likely, people are in the Ego tool ecosystem already. It's a add on to make what they already own more versatile. I suppose you plug cords into the Titan and use the cords to power corded devices, but people bought the Ego stuff to get away from that.
