I agree with others as to the cadence of your verbal walk-through. Consider incorporating a good Christopher Walken impersonation which would match your cadence but increase the entertainment value two-fold. That would be epic.
I just found a fantastic video that boiled your Part One and Part Two which equal about 30 minutes of "blah, blah, blah" down to 5 minutes and 35 seconds. I use that one. 🙄
I worked in the Wallcovering industry for 40 years. 9 time out of 10 when the seams lift it is because the paint under the paper came off. If you are hanging over a builder grade paint, the wet paste penetrates the paint. As it dries it contracts and pulls the paint off the wall. If the wallpaper is hard you will be able to see the old paint stuck on the back of the wallpaper. The only way I know to assure that this doesn’t happen is to prime the wall with an alkyd primer sealer. I might add that unless this is a commercial installation there would be no reason for there to be a razor cut at the seam which would only be if the installer double cut the material. This is not done on residential installs
@@spencercolgan R35 is good for things like borders. When you use it to prime for an entire paper job and then goo to remove said paper years later, it's a nightmare! It does not wash off well. I have used Zinsers latex wallpaper/vinyl primer. I was a union painter and served an apprenticeship over 30 yrs ago. Still painting! Oil primer is the best. But most people do not want that stink!. It's old school. But works the best.
Great content but can you please plan your videos a bit? Movies use scripts for a reason. I'm not talking about how long the job takes, but you could edit a bit and make a video like this half the time. You'd get a LOT more views and likes, etc.
You are 1000% correct! On January 1, I purchased an editing software and if you look at my last 15 videos or so, you will see they all have subtitles, editing, music et cetera. I have been wanting to do it for two years now and I was intimidated that it would be too difficult to do. Boy, was I wrong! Do you know what I will do? I will redo this video and I will re-publish it edited
Wow,where did we get this one. He steamed it,didn't work. Glued it it,didn't work..after that I lost interest. All if needs buddy,is a bit of wallpaper paste put behind the paper then smoothed out. Job done.
Holy crap does this dude take a long time to get to the important points. 13 minute video with 60 seconds of useful direction. And he doesn't even get done. You have to go to part 2. lol
Great video, but as an amateur I going to ask what must be a silly question for those that do this often, so: It appears the wallpaper is releasing as he steams it. Is that what you want to happen, knowing it will be glued back down properly...so that you don't have to worry with the releasing you just caused?

wow, just what I needed. my wallpaper is opening up at seam, curling due to central heating! saw some of yrs from a little while, but not this one, rec'd by utube! SO WHAT DO U DO!!
Hi would you advise the same solution for resolving lifting the seams of wallpaper if the wallpaper has been painted over? Or would that be a different process?

Steaming seems the good way .. My goodness I have a lot of house to do if every seem takes this long... I have 7 bedrooms like this each every seem needs work
@@georgianwindow Try using Roman 535 on a paintbrush in each scene and press it down with your smoother; this was thick commercial wallcovering; don’t panic. Try glue first

After consideration I am wondering why you just don't go straight to the liquid nails since that is ultimately what you're gluing with, what do these extra steps accomplish?
Great question… If the material proves to be something that requires the liquid nails, I have to do that only as a last resort. But if it shows me that it can be done with simple wallpaper paste come I do it if it doesn’t take wallpaper paste then I go to super tack, but that may be too watery to hold it down and then therefore in the last resort I use the liquid nails but it’s a good question
