PART 1 - ILLUMINATE ADELAIDE 24 - Fire Garden
On the 4th July 2024, the opening night for of “Illuminate Adelaide 24” I went to the “Fire Garden” event at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.
You enter the Botanic Gardens from North Terrace, Adelaide, and you stroll through the gardens at your leisure. It was a perfect night; cool, dry, and no breeze. There were firelights everywhere (I’d imaged that, this is what it would have been like walking through the night streets in Ancient Athens or Ancient Sparta in BCE). There were flaming sculptures and kinetic sculptures, thousands of handcrafted giant fire pots, candlelit arched pathways, and mechanical sculptures.
izORel, a French electro-acoustic composer, was playing live creative pieces of music that blanketed the whole site.
The food stall serving hot food and donuts, and there was a drink stall serving coffee and alcohol.
The atmosphere was an amazing. I stayed there for 3 hours.
