My BIGGEST pet peeve with christians is they CANNOT keep any discussion limited to the facts and historicity. Every single conversation devolves into theology, philosophy and how great this magical figure of Jesus Christ is although there's very little historical evidence to support his existence.

Both Debaters did well. If you honestly listened to part one closely, there were no winners. With the scholarship of both sides, they deserved a round 3 free for all in part 1 to address the points that were not addressed. Bro. Bantu seems to be arguing that the origin of Christianity is not Roman. Bro. Jabari seems to be arguing that Rome popularized Christianity. In this since both men are right. An appropriate response is not to abandon Christianity, but abandon the false practices of Christianity. This truly emerged as a western movment in the 16th century with the reformation. Since that time the church has been unearthing more truth, to return to Christianity in it's original since. As for part 2. I think Bro. Jabari did an excellent job of supporting his position on the originality of Christianity. Debates are truly never settled because research is ongoing. I would appreciate giving both men time to prepare for a part 3 strengthening their arguments and addressing some of the off-topic comments such as misogyny and violence. Good job overall!

Jabari did an excellent job and made the more compelling case. Out of interest, does Dr Bantu identify as Black? He seems to have a lot of anti-Black prejudices (which I think are subconscious): 1. He seemed keen to make a case that racism was rife in the ancient world. It wasn’t. And his case on that was shoddy. 2. His reference to Plato to support his case of racism in the ancient world was wrong. The quote he read from Plato had nothing to do with race. 3. He referred to a Roman person with an enslaved Ethiopian to apparently support racism. The Romans enslaved everyone they could, including their own. It was a slave state. That was a very bad point made by Mr Bantu. 4. Mr Bantu made a blanket statement that the ancient Egyptians were not Black. Based on what? He seems to be unaware that there were invasions of Kemet by Hyksos, Assyrians, Persians (twice), “Sea Peoples”, Romans, Greeks, Arabs, Ottomans, French and the British. The Arabs in particular settled there. It is dishonest, or at least plain ignorant, to assert the people there look the same as they did 5000 years ago. I don’t think Mr Bantu should be doing teaching until he learns more.

Why we act like Iesus last name is christ. Christ mean anointed one (1). So the people declared him as the the anointed one (1).
