I bought 4 of these Hymer shells when Road Trek in Kitchener Ontario went bankrupt. So I figured Id wait and flip a couple but not many have the time or the skills to build one. So I just started building this one. I'm going to make everything over kill from large materials and bond all the windows in with Autoglass urethane which will make leaks obsolete and strengthen the walls over all. These were amazing trailers from Europe , they were well made with quaility materials . Many like them because like Triliums and Bolers they were easy to pull with almost any vehicle and they seldom leaked causing smell and dangerous black mold as conventional caulked seam trailer. These Hymers are a bit longer aswell. This build video will be a couple parts if not more .It depends on which stage sells the quickest for the price I'm looking for. These Turing GT's sold for$ 35000 at Hymer. I'm asking much less then that for a closed in camper ,If you want more it's more. Painted with windows a door and an shock mounted pop up roof on a frame with good tires and trailer lights and safety chains made plug in and tow away $9500 .The shell weighs 400 pounds, the frame is about 270 the window are 200 the pop top weighs about 180 Weight is only under 1150 pounds empty and easy to pull with almost anything. You finish the inside how you like. Please enjoy the video like Subscribe if you care and see you on the next one. If you find yourself interested in buying this one and you don't like white let me know before I spray paint it because I can spray it any colour you like. Please leave a comment and Ill get back to you. This is an ad for this unit as they were produced at the factory. • Hymer Touring GT - Fea...

Why did you go with this frame design? Experiment? I see you ran the shackles forward but I’m wondering if this design would need shackles front and rear so that the axle doesn’t move forward and back while going up and down through the spring range. I know it wouldn’t move much forward and back but it has no option but to stress your front hinge or your axle hanger bolts.

The springs have two bars or shackles only on one end of the spring, so if it needs to move it can . It's actually a very solid design as even the bars on the tougne can flex slightly .It's very stable and functions quite well yet it has give when needed ,not sure you understand the dynamics to be stressfull. To add theres only 3 inches of travel anyways before the frame bottoms out on the axel.
