Thank you for making this video. I did this job today following the video and couldn’t have done it without you. It 100% resolved the issue on my daughter’s new to her 2008 Civic coupe (part number slightly different). It’s like new again. Gotta love the internet. Thanks again!

Glad the video helped. I generally have my daughter out there wrenching on her car, when it comes to repairs. She not only learns the in and outs, but sees the amount of savings versus bringing it to a mechanic.

Wow, you’re videos are extremely well done, I’ve watched a few videos on replacing these mounts as I’m preparing to buy the parts and take on the task of replacing the mounts on my 07 civic, but I have to say without a doubt, your video was the best so far and the most articulate. I really appreciate the time you put into all the details of the video, especially with laying out in the beginning the tools you need, which help me see which tools I’m missing and the part numbers at the end of the video. Again thank you so much, I hope your channel continues to do well from here, please continue to do civic repair videos in the future!

I picked up some "Wobble socket" extensions at Harbor Freight. They are socket extensions that give a little wiggle room. They make jobs like this easier where access is a little difficult.

Thanks, glad I can help. If your Civic is pretty much stock, like mine. Best to bite the bullet and get Honda OEM mounts and torque rods. Read some aftermarket mounts and simply don't last. Remember to PB blast the nuts and bolts, prior to removal. If you have any question(s), drop a line and I'll try and help. Make sure you check out part 2, for the lower torque rod. I will have part 3, posted soon for the mount that is on the transmission side. Thanks again for watching. Make sure to like and subscribe.

From personal experience, DO NOT TORQUE YOUR PCV VALVE TO 33 FT/LB!! The service manual screwed me up on this one. Just tightened it snug.

Thanks for watching Here are the different places online that I have ordered from. Since prices changes all the time, best to check all of them. www.hondapartsonline.net/ www.hondapartsnow.com/ honda.oempartsonline.com/ www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ www.hondafactoryparts.com/ www.hondapartsdirect.com/ You might want to check your local Honda dealership as well. Sometimes, it might be cheaper locally, due to the fact you have to factor in shipping cost, when ordering online. I noticed you reused the bolts on this video where as you replaced them on the other two video. Would you recommend replacing these bolts as well or is that not needed?
@gilbosdiy
@gilbosdiy 8 месяцев назад
Honda calls for the 3 bolts on the torque rod to be replaced. On the motor mount itself only the bolt and nut on the engine side should be replaced. The two bolts that holds the actual motor mount to the frame does not need to be replace. The 3 bolts on the quarter panel bracket does not need replacing either. Now, if you live in an area prone to rust. I would just change all bolts. Not that much more in cost, since you are replacing it yourself. Piece of mind. I have all the nut and bolts listed at the end of the video as well as in the description below he video. Hope this helps, thanks again for watching. Please hit the like and subscribe button if you found the video(s) helpful. If you have anymore questions, just ask, and I'll try and help.

Hi Gilbo, my civic 2013 LX was having clunking noise when i move the gear from P to D and D to P. Many people told me it was a faulty engine mount, i did have it replaced, but i can still hear some clunking noise when changing gear. What can be the reason for this?
@gilbosdiy
@gilbosdiy 9 месяцев назад
Unfortunately, that is one of those questions that you can't give straight up answer on RU-vid. It could be many reasons (i.e. cv axle, transmission, etc,,,), best to find a local mechanic for that. Sorry about that.

Check the transmission mount. There’s multiple Mounts and if one was bad it’s likely the others are as well. It’s pretty common for Hondas unfortunately, had to change all of them on my old accord and now I got a civic and need to do the same. 🥲 they’re good cars though 💁🏽‍♀️

It took a couple hours for one mount? That's the easiest one to do from the looks of it. Serious question. I'm looking to replace my mounts.
@gilbosdiy
@gilbosdiy 9 месяцев назад
No, no, no, couples hours tops for all 3. As long as you don't live in a rust belt area. Quickest one is lower torque rod the on the bottom of the engine on the backside. Hope this helps thanks for watching.

@@pgreenx yea, for sure. Make to use some PB blaster the night before and the day of replacement. If you live in a rust prone area, I would start spraying even earlier, just saying. Glad the videos helped, please hit the like and subscribe button. Thanks again

Can you please help me? I removed all the old parts and the top bracket doesnt line up unless I pull the engine towards the front of the vehicle, is this normal? from the video it looks like the engine didnt move at all and the top bracket slips right in.
@gilbosdiy
@gilbosdiy 5 месяцев назад
Are you referring to the bracket (the one that ties together the engine and mount) at 14:16. If that is the one your are referring to, YES you might need to adjust the engine til holes line up. Hope this helps. If you have any question(s) just ask.
@smeg8557
@smeg8557 5 месяцев назад
Yeah that’s the one. I guess I’ll just play with the jack and move the motor around. It’s kind of weird. I had to have my wife pull on it from the back towards the front to get it to line up. I don’t know why mine moves so much but thank you so much for the Quick reply. If you ever need any vinyl decals or a custom shirt for whatever you do, I would be more than happy to do it for you thank you.

@@smeg8557 Yea, install the bolt on the mount first, a few threads. Then the engine side. Could be the other mounts (part 2 and part 3) are worn as well. Thanks for the offer.
