CORINNE! Stop it! All your projects are so fun, I want to try them all....talk about taking someone down the rabbit hole! This is going to be gorgeous; can't wait to see the embellishments. Thanks so much for sharing....

A magnet, use it to move all the pins and needles on the underside of the couch to one area, then just poke them through the faux fabric. Pins might need a little tug or 3, which works better when you hold your tongue just...so....yup....there you go! 400 teeny tiny holes in your fingers should be about right, to prove your bravery of course.
@tobelovedtreasuresbycorrine
Not a bad idea!

where did you get that calico canvas fabric from? I am a Brisbane dweller too.
@tobelovedtreasuresbycorrine
Hi.. I found it secondhand at sewing lair. (Beenleigh) I have seen it a spotlight.. this looks the same but it’s softer.. so I think it has been washed. Normal calico is ok to use.. probably better as it’s easier to push the needle through as the pretty layers build up!

Oh Corrine, this is going to be so beautiful, and thank you so much for the shout-out :) I can't tell you what a buzz it is to see different people putting their own spin on this idea. Love the fabrics and trims you're using, the Stef Francis fibres are totally gorgeous. The rice bag is a perfect way to use the scrappy string squares and would be perfect to showcase other slow-stitched pieces as well, definitely will be checking out your playlist on that as well. Thanks for a lovely video :)

have you got a video on those calico liners?
@tobelovedtreasuresbycorrine
The first one I made was the Japanese fabric using sashiko stitching.. I show the lining construction in the first few videos of that series.. I will link the playlist below,

Love your idea of making the bag as a foundation to apply new techniques. What I especily like about the string quilt block is you only have to decide on colors and maybe the width. I still struggle a bit with collaging. I will try this technique of hand sewing the strips. Another block might be a crazy quilt patch. Start with a 5 sided shape and sew strips around similar to the log cabin method. You really are an inspiration and I love everything you do, your colors and style. I wish we were neighbors so we could sew together. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas and talent. I love embroidering along as you chatter away.
@tobelovedtreasuresbycorrine
Are you are so kind! I have be thinking about a crazy quilt patch!

Ohhhh that’s so pretty. Shabby Chic is definitely a favourite. You could possibly do your other panels with tiny little squares like a checker board instead of strips. Then lay strings over. Or the Suffolk puffs and hexagons in those colours as you said. Pearls and beads in strips ....goodness the mind boggles with the endless possibilities. ❤
@tobelovedtreasuresbycorrine
The mind does boggle! So pretty!

I too saw this on Annie’s channel and wanted to try this method out. But making the rice bag instead of another pillow would work out great. Plus a container to use would be more useful to me. PS feel the same way about using the sari silk as a journal tie- glad I’m not alone in this thinking Corrine.
