Day 1: Saint Jean Pied de Port to Roncesvalles (25.1 km = 15.6 ml)
Day 2: Roncesvalles to Zubiri (21.9 km = 13.6 ml)
Day 3: Zubiri to Pamplona (20.9 km = 13 ml)
Day 4: Pamplona to Puente la Reina (23.8 km = 14.8 ml)

Thank for sharing your Camino, I really enjoy watching this. I walked the Camino Frances in 2010 and parts of it in 2011 and 2012. 2015 I walked the Camino de Norte and met a Belgien guy who now is my husband. We're planning our next Camino Frances in may 2023 with a stroller like you to show our little girls where mum and dad met.

Wow, what a story to tell your daughters. The Camino provides, I’m so happy for you. It was an unforgettable journey for us. We’re blessed to survived and completed the Camino. We’re planning Porto in 2024. Like most peregrino we’re itchy to get back on trail again once home. Come March I’ll be doing a solo Camino primitivo. We already made plans to do another Camino (Porto) 2024, this time no stroller LOL. As for me, I’ll be doing a solo Camino come end of March (Primitivo). How wonderful! Thank you for sharing. Besides the place where the tree crosses the trail, were there any other places where “Lucy” couldn’t cross? I will be doing the Camino next year in a 3-wheeled wheelchair, with no ability to walk if I find a place that is inaccessible, and am having a difficult time finding the information I am looking for regarding the trail terrain. Is there a resource you found that helped you know what landscape obstacles you would encounter and when? Thank you in advance, Mela.

Hi Melissa. The tree crosses the trail was nothing. If you watch the rest of our videos there are days where it’s difficult to get the “Lucee” across. Stairs and steep hills. Two days we had to shipped stroller ahead, going up and down Cruz de Ferro due to the difficulty of the terrain. There are days where my youngest was under the weather and we had to push him up and down the rocky hill with tremendous difficulty. However, there are some section that are flat. There are lots of books for the French Way. I found myself using FarOut app to navigate daily route. There are lots of app available, some are free. The Camino book by John Brierley is also a good resource. We hope the weather will be in your favor when you are on trail. We encountered Europe worse heat wave and it just made it difficult for us. Overall, an unforgettable journey. We hope you’ll find what you’re looking for. Buen Camino!

Wow you have a beautiful family!! It is so cool that you are doing this together. I was a solo walker from St Jean to Sarria then met up with my wife a daughter to walk the last 100 to Santiago. Solo walking has its benefits but walking with family is the best. I walked in May so the wheat fields around the silhouettes were green and flowing. Thank you for sharing this great video.

Wow in May you had a beautiful Camino. With anything it’s nice to share. Happy we all got a chance to experience such a wonderful journey as a family. I’m curious what will be like to do a solo hike like you Chuck. So, come March I’ll be doing a solo Camino primitivo. Something about the Camino that’s making me want to pursue more. We are so blessed to have a successful Camino. Not going to lie, but there are time where it was so difficult to complete a stage due to the difficulty of the terrain. Overall, we worked as a family and problem solved it. It was really a buen camino. Thanks for watching Manoli!

Hi Alison! The Camino was truly a wonderful experience for our family. It’s possible with kids. Just do lots of training hike prior, make reservation ahead, and travel light (use bag transport services each day). The Camino will provide, but if worse case scenario you can always call a taxi. Hello. I live in Zamora. It´s an ancient city of the kingdom of leon which province is in the south of the province of León. We have suffer a terrific fire this summer - in july-. Zamora is part ot the camino thas it´s called " La ruta de la plata" , I encourage you to get to know it, especially the fork called "el cordel sanabrés" That region of Zamora - Sanabria - borders Galicia with and is a very beautiful transition area between Castilla y León and Galicia. Its head is Puebla de Sanabria and there is a nearby lake surrounded by mountains... If one day you decide to do El Camino de la Plata from Mérida or even from Seville, I encourage you to get to know my land. PS. It does not have the fish dishes that you have known in Galicia, but it does have a particular way of cooking octopus: "Pulpo a la sanabresa". Best regards

Zamora sounds like a place worth visiting. Camino de la Plata is on my list to do in the future. We saw a few fire destruction along the Camino Frances due to the heatwaves. Thanks Francisco for sharing.

We started June 17th and arrived July 23rd, a few days before St. James Feast Day. We took some rest days to enjoy the big city (Pamplona, Burgos, Leon, etc). Toward the end we were doing short distances because we wanted to time it just right to arrive before St. James Day.

My boys and I we worn Altra trail runner. I don’t recommend boots for the French way unless you really need ankle support. I’m doing Camino Primitivo end of March 2023 and will be wearing boots due to the terrain and wet condition. Everyone have their preference so I hope you’ll find one that best suited for you. If wearing shoe/boot it’s greatly advise to size up 1/2 or whole size up. Your feet will thanks you end of the day when your feet swell up and your toes won’t cry going downhill. 👍

did any of your family get blisters from walking ? If not how did your prevent them from getting blisters?

Hi Paula. My wife hiked in sandal the entire Camino with NO blisters. My two younger sons, no blisters. My oldest and I had a minor blister for a day. He and I wore injinji toe socks. There are lots of way to prevent blisters. You can search online for better guidance. Some example, use Vaseline, baby powder, change socks often, go up one shoe size larger, etc etc. Son and I used compeed for our blister care. You can bring a few just in case and buy more at the pharmacy over there if needing more. We used about 4 total. Guess we are the lucky one without major problem. Thanks for watching Paula. What time of year was this that it was 100-105°F? I walked the French route in ‘16. Going to walk the French again with my daughter in July/August… I’m sure it will be a scorcher!

We started mid June 2022. We got unlucky and experienced Europe very unusual heatwave. It was so hot that some town advise peregrino not to hike and stay for an extra day. We usually left with headlamp to beat the heat. Took us 35 days to get to Santiago due to rest day. It was truly a wonderful experience especially with family.
