I envoy because you do. I have talk recently with Philippe Rouvier sensei and 2 brown students who are preparing shodan of your channel. Philippe made me discover your channel and told them: it is a pure Shiomitsu work. I will help Michel Muller sensei next wednesday in his personnal dojo to the preparation of their first shodan.

@pierrelebloa510 thank you for your kind and encouraging words. We are very pleased to hear it is helping students with their training, that is one of the main reasons for the channel; to give access to those that maybe can't find everything they need locally or to help supplement what that can. Plus trying to capture and preserve some knowledge and experience for future generations, the way we wish we could have had to the great masters and teachers that went before. Keep up the good work and we will keep making the videos.

@@WadoRyuBenkyo totally agreed, and to have a fun word, as said frank zappa on joe's garage:" Don't make a fuzz, and just get on the bus". A lot to work and a lot to enjoy.

Im still enjoying these breakdowns and explanations and the presentation is getting pretty slick, new video effects noted. I really notice the differences in Wanshu from yours to mine but, like you say, it just variations from different instructors

We thought that this Kata would highlight how it is done differently across different styles, clubs, associations. Everyone seems to have something that varies. We are not sure if it is because is it not taught/practiced as often as other Kata, but it would be interesting to see or hear about them all

@WadoRyuBenkyo my instructor trained at Temple in Birmingham under Toru before taking on a Sports emphasis. I've also read a couple of the books that are around and it seems kata variations aren't unusual. Not sure why. I'm happy to put up a video of 'our' way.

@@ianedwards8530 That would be amazing. Roger Sensei also trained with Toru at the temple and learnt Wanshu directly and only from Toru, so it will be very interesting to compare :D 👍

We know this Kata originated in China so it would make sense that it shares its roots with Chinese styles of Gungfu or TaiChi, but sadly we don't have enough history to tie it directly back to it origin point. We discuss this in part 3 of the video series in the history section so stay tuned, it will be released the 1st June.

as also practicing wingchun and taichichuan, we can find the same principles of softness, lines mastering and body wisdom ( according to his medical knownedge and Shindō Yōshin-Ryū. The wado body framework can integrate a lot of things. As a pure japanese karate style, with his holistic framework, it is closer to chinese internal arts.
