Ok. You convinced me to mill my own flour...but it took me 4 years to get my home mill. I first watch thus video 4 years ago. My hubby just bought me my Nutrimill Plus mill. I love it. Got me some wheat and rye and popcorn. The flavors are so delishious. Thank you.
My husband and I have been eating whole wheat flour for 40+ years (as part of our 50 year vegetarian diet). We are in our early 70s and still no prescription meds and no body pains. I think the anti gluten guy has made a lot of money off of his ideas. We eat whole wheat waffles once a week. The secret for ww waffles is to beat the egg yolks. Delicious with maple syrup.
@@lauratempestini5719 I used to have an electric wheat grinder (35 years) but due to lack of space in the kitchen I gave it away. I wish I hadn't. I bought a hand grinder but it doesn't grind the flour fine enough. King Arthur makes good whole wheat flour.
Is very great that you are taking time to explain as much as you can in your video sessions. I was reading some of the commentary below wondering if bottom feeders love to just blurt out garbage or if it’s imperative to educate us like you and myself to begin to teach people completely your phrase but I’m‘s of shoes and yoga mats could be augmented with chemical names of those ingredients so that these people can look it up for themselves entice you to a bridge this video and do that. Meanwhile may I congratulate you for the beautiful beautiful job you are doing sharing this fabulous machinery as well as your mixer are use mine it’s goodness 20 years old baby girl work it every week and I make 30 pounds of bread ! Because I sell it! As well as take care of my home and my two children’s homes as well as my seven grandchildren’s homes so I may be a little bit off 30 pounds I think it’s 60 actually I don’t remember numbers well I just know are used to have to need all of that by hand! However you do it the only thing I would change in your baking is I would let your baking products proof tennis 15 minutes longer and throw Some water in your oven prior to placing the bread in to bake for what’s called oven spring! Industrial Ovens do this for us but our home opens need that help or you can simply just keep my 3/4 full pan of water hot water in your oven at all times during bread baking to help with that I’ve been spraying your lives will be a bit later and also they will have a suppleness that comes from that steaming in the first 10 minutes of baking it is essential! God bless you for this information I am so sorry that That there are people who don’t understand the truth will set you free! Thanks so much
dejunqi2008 Bob's Red Mill brand sells many different whole grains that can be cooked whole or ground into flour, including several different varieties of wheat. They have wonderful, healthful products.
Great video but I need help. I have an active/healthy sourdough starter that I feed all-purpose flour. When I make sourdough bread with my starter and purchased all-purpose or bread flour, the sourdough loaf comes out amazing. When I use Hard Red Spring Wheat berries and grind it using my mill, the bread doesn't rise as much and comes out very heavy, dark, and not as tasty. I thought about sifting, but what else can I do to make my flour from milling to act more like the store bought flour? Should I use Hard White Wheat berries instead? EDIT: I just watched: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0t6NXU5pG4U.html and I think sifting is my answer as explained around the 8:00 min mark. That said, any other advise you have is very welcome. Thank you.
Couldn't you cook and then grind the wheat? I tried grinding my wheat in a food processor, but it didn't work. I don't want flower, I just want them easier to chew like rice, more like a mash.
aint. nobody. got . time. for that. I guess I should open my own bakery and make everything from complete scratch . it would help other busy people .thanks , very helpful.
Figuratively speaking, bottom of shoes and yoga matts.... Did you know that FDA allows tolerance of 30 fragments rat excrement pero 100 grams in peanut butter?
Loaf bread flour should be made using hard wheat berries. You can buy this on Amazon and sometimes from other stores that sell bulk foods. If you want to make pastry sometime, buy soft wheat berries. There are other types of wheat out there such as that used to make pizza ....and that used to make pasta. If you are starting with loaf bread it is HARD Wheat berries that you want.
I grind my own flour. But I actually emailed my grain commission. They said there are no additives in our flour. And saying "chemicals". Everything is a chemical. Ppl are made up of chemicals. So what chemical is it that is wrong and why? And she's correlating things by association. "Something found in bottom of shows and yoga matts". I mean... That means nothing. Could be water for all we know. Things can have dual purposes and not be bad for our health. What grain commission said is it is important look at whole diet. Flour is fortified with many things. And because of which it has actually reduced the neural tube defects among babies in the country because not everyone eats or can afford to eat enough fruits and veggies. So I'm just saying ... Store bought flour isn't this demonic thing and has its pros and cons.
www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/fa-af/fa-af08-eng.php www.cpha.ca/en/programs/history/achievements/09-shf/fortification.aspx It is generally recommended that if you eat a balanced diet and take a multivitamin (containing folic acid). Milking. Your own flour should be ok. I think there is a benefit to eating the whole grain myself. But I def think most ppl do the best they can with the information provided to them. Milling your flour yourself might be better but it also might not depending on your situation.
absolutely. so instead of being concerned with "chemicals"... its important to make educated decisions and not just it being natural or unnatural. natural doesn't mean safe. and unnatural doesn't always mean unsafe. but regardless.... When I called the grain association they assured me that there was no "chemicals" added into the flour I bought... even though that wasn't the reason for my call. but they must have heard that question enough that they felt the need to email me information on it.
Freshly-ground whole-wheat flour undoubtedly makes delicious homemade bread; I make 6 loaves every week and they're always gone by day 5 or 6. I think a lot of people are turned off by this presentation because the tone is slightly condescending, also, there is a lot of misinformation/pseudoscience being passed along.
Wellll not necessarily.. It is interesting that so many ppl (including myself) have digestive problems consistently after eating flour products (and only then), yet the BRAN and other parts of the wheat grain are actually the best source of FIBER, which helps digestion along...I personally think, logically, that we need to stop eating pure white flour as it is not healthy, whereas whole wheat is!!! Hmmm I wonder though, will whole wheat flour work as well as "regular" all purpose flour to thicken recipes???
115breno You don’t!... You talk to a female about what you want and need. It’s more of us out there than you think. A lot of women are scared to be this person, we don’t want to be labeled or treated a certain way by men. Sooo if you do get this make sure you ALWAYS treat her good! If you can look things like this up, you can look up how to treat a lady or even romantic stuff 🤷🏿♀️ 😂 Have a safe and blessed day.
Subway actually got in trouble a few months ago because it was found they added polymer fillers, consistent with plastic or rubber additives, in their bread as a fluffing cost saving measure. Since then, I believe they have addressed the problem. It sounds crazy but people need to know what's in their food.
+williewater bug wasn't that movement led by "food babe? A blogger notorious for misinformation and pseudoscience. Not saying it was right or wrong to do that. But it def feels like ppl are forming more of a. lynch mob mentality and fear monger ing over some things.
Fresh milled flour tastes better but no one should prey on peoples ignorance and tell people that they're eating rubber which is not true in the slightest.
do your research before you start questioning her on the credibility of her story....as i have read about what is actually in WHITE FLOUR AND BELIEVE YOU ME, UNLESS YOU GRIND YOUR OWN YOU CERTAINLY WOULDN'T EAT WHAT YOU BUY IN THE SUPERMARKETS
Jewel Bailey - there is a lot of bad stuff out there but akways buy unbleached and unbromated flour an from reputable sources. you will be ok. King Arthur flour is great. many others. buy in bulk if you can, store in plastic bins.
I like the idea of an in-home grain mill, but your facts about store-bought flour.... I mean really.... come on! You seriously believe legitimate grain mills are going to grind rubber into wheat grains that are sold in stores? I doubt that very much. That's just being a little too neurotic. .... I'll give you something even worse.... We all have eaten our share of dirt when we were kids and we all drink our share of ground water and did you know common dirt and water contains miniscule elements of lead and arsenic? So what? Big deal.
I know, right? Was a tad disappointed that she didn't use a hand grinder. Sure, it takes a bit more time and energy, but if you're that concerned about making and example of how to live healthy and all that wholesome stuff, might as well go all the way and save some electricity.
Store bought flour = rubber? You just shot down your own credibility. Instead of lying, you should have done your homework as to the decay of the oil in wheat. I am all FOR grinding grain. I am not for lying nor liars.
