Welcome! My name is John McCoy. I’m an illustrator based in Cincinnati, OH. I have taught Community Education art courses at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and have taught the art of mural making to local schools like Oldenburg Academy (Indiana) and St Aloysius Gonzaga (Cincinnati, OH) to all grade levels. As well I have extensive experience in Artist Residencies for mural projects giving talks on the creative process behind artworks while producing large scale murals and public artworks.

Glad to see you included a hat example. It’s been my observation that hats and head scarves are pitfalls for perspective errors, distorting head shapes.

Thank you! It’s definitely a drawing challenge to understand how clothing changes the form but also reveals it.
